He reaches for his pouch as well, but stops when the nuggalope actually turns to look at them, ears perked up. Clearly Christine's sweet talking has gotten it's attention.

The nuggalope's nose twitches as it tries to smell what that delicious food might be. Then it takes a cautious step towards them.

As it gets closer Sam makes a noise, a bit of surprise and curiosity. "That's a lot bigger up close."
no subject
"You are not having second thoughts are you?" she whispers close to Sam's ear.
no subject
Or not.
With the food gone the creature is sniffing around and already making its way towards Christine. Judging by the way its ears turn towards her and it begins to sniff in her direction it expects she has more.

"I do hope I do not lose a finger." It's said with no small amount of sarcasm, but she does step towards it cautiously, hand extended to see if it'll take it from her hand or if it wants it on the ground.

Sam continues to say where he is, not wanting the nuggalope to feel crowded. That and he wasn't going to try jumping on it when its face was so close to Christine.

The nuggalope walks over, stopping in front of her. It lifts its right foot and sets it down quickly, then the left foot. It does this several times until Christine realizes it's doing an excited little dance and she giggles uncontrollably.
"Here," she says softly. "Good food." The nuggalope drops its mouth over her hand and inhales the food, leaving her cringing internally at the sensation.
"Good... err, nuggalope. Sam, is this a male or female?"
no subject
Male or female?
Sam gives a sigh at that, lips pursing a bit, then slowly moves forward while giving the creature a wide berth. While distracted he leans over to get a look at it's underside. "I think it's a boy?" If he understands anatomy of other animals it certainly seems like the case.
no subject
"Good boy," she coos, smiling up at him.

Seeing that it seems decently calm, Sam takes a step forward, but stops when ears perk up and a large head turns in his direction. Not enough to stop Christine from petting him of course. When it appears that the nuggalope isn't going to move, Sam tries again, getting close enough to stand next to Christine, but not reaching out to touch just yet. Baby steps.

"This is Sam. He is a Fereldan, so you two should get on famously."
I am honored
"Are you assuming he's Fereldan as well or are you just saying I get along with animals?" he asks, giving Christine a playful look, just for a moment before settling his eyes back on the creature and holding a hand out. There was a long moment as it took time smelling his hand, clearly looking for a treat like Christine had given. "I don't have any- hey-!" Apparently chewing on sleeves was just as good.
no subject
Christine is just about to ask if Sam wants her to put some food in his hand when the nuggalope starts chewing and she can't hold back her giggles.
"Oh, I like this one! And he thinks you are a tasty treat."
no subject
"Of course you would like the one that is trying to eat me." How very cruel you are, Christine. But guess that proved it was a boy, right? Thinking he was a tasty treat and trying to take his clothes. "Can you help me to get him to stop?" He kind of has an arm tied up and the other is making sure the horns aren't poking into him.
no subject
"All right, all right," she says, tugging back on Sam's sleeve while making soothing sounds to the nuggalope. "No, no. Not for eating. Do you want another treat? Hmm?" Her other hand returns to her bag for more feed.
"Mmm. Good food."
no subject
Tugging on his shirt doesn't get the nuggalope to let go, but the offer of more food certainly does. The nuggalope makes the most curious noise when the feed is presented, and easily uses his weight to push Sam a bit of the way to start munching on Christine's hands.
"Thank you," Sam sighs out, wrinkling his nose a bit at the moist feeling of his sleeve. Now that he is close and not occupied with being chewed on, Sam looks back and hums lightly as he considers something. "I don't think either one of us is going to get on him without help."
no subject
"Yech," she says, drawing her empty hand away to wipe on her pant leg. "If we can climb on something we might be able to. Do you see any fallen logs or tree stumps nearby? I can lead him over with food." Though she does want to try to conserve some now that the nuggalope is scarfing it all down.
no subject
"Or I could give you a boost to get on his back." Before Christine can argue he interrupts quickly. "He does seem to really like you." Course he's still looking for something to climb on if Christine doesn't agree with that idea.

"How are we getting him back to the Hold? Can't just steer him by his horns... can we?"
no subject
"I thought he would simply be... nudged along with someone on his back and another leading the way with food. Is that not what we should do?"
no subject
no subject
"If you cannot think of how to get on his back, maybe you could walk behind him instead and block him if he tries to veer off?"
no subject
"There are some rocks over there. Let's just see if we can get him to move to that spot and then we'll figure how to do the rest." That sounded fair right?
