[Being that Velanna barely knows most of the people they're traveling with, even the Wardens, she's mostly riding alongside Bruce for this whole venture. The Dalish all-bred she's borrowed from the stable seems to have mostly gotten over it's skittishness towards Bruce's Dracolisk, almost seems to like him, now.

The elf however is getting a little more uneasy, though it's come and gone for most of the trip. Depends on the day and how many travelers they meet on the road, really. Still, Serault has quite the checkered past, and she's unsure what that holds for them. The woods they're traveling through aren't exactly giving way to optimism.]

I feel as though we should be placing bets on the measure to which this will go wrong. That's what Oghren used to do whenever we walked into a place such as this. [She's mostly talking to Bruce, but she's not really keeping her voice down much.]

[Bruce appreciates the company. He sort of knows some of the party here - Ciri, Sabine, Morrigan - but they're not exactly close and they all probably have other things to be concerned about. The other Warden he still... doesn't know what to make of him, given his weird uncanny resemblance to a certain Rifter in the past, and the other Orelsian.

[From all the things he's done so far since being in the Inquisition, things going wrong almost seem to be a norm, now. In a way its almost sad.]

[Bruce very nearly winces at Velanna's response, though his manages not too - even if internally he's very definitely wincing. Spirits... yeah. Bruce certainly hopes that spirits aren't going to come into play. Those tend to not end well for him.]

Well, let's just hope history won't repeat itself. [Is what he says instead, as plaintively as he can manage.] I doubt any of us will particularly enjoy that either.

I certainly didn't enjoy it the first time. [Seriously fuck the Blackmarsh they should've burned the whole place down a second time. Velanna will suggest a similar fate to this place, should anything similar happen. Given their company maybe they'd actually listen to her on that front.]

There is life here, though. That was something noticeably absent in the Blackmarsh.

[Hey, Bruce isn't going to fault her for that. She has a point.

Her following remark has him humming in agreement. They are a rather varied bunch of people.] Maybe the variation will be helpful. [Sometimes too many like-minded people together isn't very effective. At least with here people can have different... opinions... if needed.]

[Velanna doesn't always like it when there are opinions different from her own, but it's been important before. After all, she would have let the city of Amaranthine burn, and Jonas decided to listen to the others who weren't advocating they cut their losses. That was probably a good thing.]

It can be beneficial to have more than one point of view.

[But really, an Orlesian Chantry brother? How does that work in a party with so many apostates and elves?]

Too many like minded people can also be too... close-minded. [Though Bruce himself has usually been the one with vastly differing opinions, so its hard to say.] And for this instance, its probably better to be as open as possible.

Also, the Chantry brother is probably there because there are so many apostates and elves.]

[Velanna is pretty confidant just from the stories she'd heard from Oghren that if Morrigan is in charge she'll do whatever she feels is right, here. Which might not be a bad thing. From the way she'd understood it, Morrigan was also the type to light things on fire first and ask questions later. Though that was ten years ago.]

[She can probably do what she wants, honestly. Bruce certainly isn't going to be the one to stop her. He understands a bit of her temperament now though a fair part of her is still a mystery. But then again, isn't everyone a mystery to some degree?]
