But then the Chantry had always been so very good at being stubborn and willfully blind all at once, had it not?
Returning her attention to Kain, she continues at last. "Twas a high dragon, of that I have no doubt. They were all rather mad though, living not unlike rats in a maze of tunnels with drakes and dragonlings alike before we reached the summit. Andraste was a madwoman, of that I have no doubt but that she could become a dragon? Perhaps you think of other legends of Ferelden."

He's all thoughtful as he considers the situation in Haven. Living among the dragons doesn't sound so bad, but then, that was supposedly once the way of his people. Adding Andrate to the mix just... lessens the purity of the whole thing in a way, to him. Dragons deserve worship in their own right. Not that he himself is some cultist, though. Those days were so long ago. "They sound much like the ancient dragon cults that once existed... they say that people gained strength by coexisting with the dragons. Was that true of these people as well? Did Andraste grant them any power?"

At the best of times, Morrigan is still barely able to resist rolling her eyes. Right now, when they're so far from Skyhold and anyone who might conceivably care or with reputations that might matter, she doesn't bother. "The power to get themselves killed," she mutters quickly with a twist to her mouth that's a smirk by any other name, sharp-edged but still somehow managing not to be cruel. Time is a funny thing with the way it's softened her. "Twas the Ashes of Andraste residing within that granted anything, curing Arl Eamon. Though why we were ever in need of another man who enjoyed the sound of his own voice and clumsy machinations I am unsure."
Someone would probably say 'you were raised in a swamp by a nutty old bat, Morrigan, that's why it's beyond you' and she would zap said mansplainer into a frog. So. Y'know, probably what they should've done with Eamon and just rolled with the younger, hotter, more dashing option.

He sighs, nodding as she explains it. It makes enough sense to him. "We could do with a few less of those sorts in charge." Though what they need, he has no idea. Politics really isn't his strong suit at all.

Kieran would too but she'll have to vet them first since she'll be the one dealing with the nightmares if they're too blood-soaked for him.
