Sam snorts. "Hardly. I just think highly of your opinion," he says with a smile, going for his own drink, though stops short of taking a sip from it when sees her actually giving him a once over. Should he turn around for you, Christine?
The bit of information at the beginning does have him raising his brows. Not the part with her saying he was attractive, but the part about the flirting. "Really? And what about me just screamed 'tease'?" He laughs, already with a thought in mind as to why. "But I agree. We're good like this." On a more serious note though- "And if you ever need anything... just need to talk, I'm here." Of course she knew that, but he knows it was still nice to hear.
That won't be necessary, Sam. She's already checked out the goods. Back in the day before you came to mean something to her.
"Oh," she laughs, cocking her head a little. "You know. The unfortunate circumstances of you being born in Ferelden. It was simply too good to pass up." Her smile turns more fond and she nods, feeling a bit overcome. But she isn't going to do anything silly like cry right now. Instead she says, "Thank you. The same goes for you." Her throat is tight as she says it, but she'll get command of herself in a moment.
Oh. Really? Maker he really hadn't noticed at all at that time that people looked at him like that.
"And look where that teasing has gotten you. Baking pies and drinking in the kitchen with a Ferelden, taking care of a dog, and considering on living in an Avvar hold. How scandalous." His nose wrinkles in amusement as he teases. For all his teasing though he is happy that Christine is enjoying her life and has plans for later on.
Christine does well to cover her emotion at the time, but having dealt with so many trying to keep it together in the healers' tents, he can hear that slight edge in her voice. So quietly he gathers his glass and moves over to lean against his shoulder against hers, humming lightly in thanks to the offer.
She huffs out a noise at his spot on assessment of her and her current circumstances. Everything is true, and she can hardly believe it herself. But in the end, it's not so bad a thing. Ponce is even starting to behave better too.
"There should be a word for that. Like 'comeuppance' but not so harsh." Unfortunately the concept of karma doesn't exist in Thedas, and she shrugs it off.
"Well, this shall take a bit of time. Let's sit outside awhile."
"Hm. Irony?" He's not sure if that word is correct, but it's all he can think of at the moment. Either way he gets what she is talking about, and is in complete agreement that there should be a word if there isn't one already.
"Sounds good to me. Perhaps someplace a little less warm?"
