Kitchens
One of the best things about Orlais had been the food. Considering Rey had found just about everything terrible about Orlais, this probably wasn't saying a whole lot, although she had enjoyed the food, even if afterwards she'd paid for eating things so much richer than she'd been prepared for.
All things said and done though, she's quite happy to be back at Skyhold, and visiting the familiar kitchens for the less opulent but still delightful treats that a few of the bakers had started setting aside for her. This particular afternoon she can be found sitting on an unused sideboard watching the hustle and bustle as meals are prepared, a cookie in hand. Simple maybe, but the butter cookies were definitely her favorite thing.
Training yard
Now that Rey's finally been able to repair her lightsaber, she feels comfortable training in the area cleared for such a purpose, rather than down by the river. She's built three miniature catapults that she sets up instead of the training dummies to fling rocks at her when she pulls a cord she's attached to each release mechanism. Sure it probably isn't as sophisticated as the target droids the Jedi once used, and she has to reload them and try to redirect the pathway the rock takes each time so it isn't too predictable, but it's better than nothing.
She mostly ignores anyone gawking as she briefly ignites her lightsaber, pulls the cord and quickly blocks the incoming rocks, but if anyone offered to help streamline this training process she might not say no.
training yard
Crossing the training grounds, he paused to watch Rey work. The lightsaber was a new sight, he hadn't seen anything like it in Thedas yet, but it also didn't strike him as something too strange. Nothing about Thedas was predictable, after all. What surprised him was the cord and mechanism. There had to be an easier way to streamline that - it seemed far too intensive.
"Would you like hand with those catapults?"
In retrospect, maybe asking from behind wasn't a great idea. It gave the sense of sneaking up on a person.
