Beleth arrives to the halla padlock a little earlier than agreed upon, to get a feel for the mood of the herd, and to see who is in the best mood to be agreeable. Extra time has been taken today to look presentable--not to the extent that she groomed herself for Val Royeux, of course, but the intention is to look every part as civilized as any human could. More civilized than some, really.
Val isn't the worst human she's met, and he's certainly not the first that she's tried to show the error of his idiotic ways by attempting diplomacy. But every time is another test that she sets for herself, and that she has to pass, if she's going to achieve her goals. She will make these fucking Orlesians tolerate her if it's the last damn thing she does (or they do).
By the time Val arrives, there are a few torches lit around the area Beleth is in, and she herself is leaning against the fence, studying the herd calmly.

When Val arrives, Beleth turns to face him. As though she hadn't heard him, she politely rests a hand on her chest, giving him a little headbob. Carefully measured to be respectful, but equal. "Ah, I'm glad you were able to make it, it's a pleasure to finally meet you in person. I am Beleth of Clan Ashara." Finally, she turns back to the halla. "It's possible. But tonight is a calm night. It's a good sign, I'm sure there will be a few willing to come meet you."
She turns back to the halla, hands resting on the fence as she leans in, looking over the herd. After a moment, she calls out in Elven, and one of the halla nickers softly back. Beleth calls out something else, listens to the halla's response, and then smiles, stepping back. "She's agreed to come over."
She is a young female halla, who sorts herself away from the rest, then starts to the fence in a brisk trot. Upon arriving to the fence, instead of slowing down, she neatly jumps over the fence, to land next to the two.
"Her name is Enansal. A blessing." Beleth tries to introduce the halla with all the formality she can bring forth, but finds herself falling somewhat short when she has to try to gently persuade Enansal to not snuffle at her hair. no halla slobber plz.

"She shares your language?" If it can be called language, properly. Linguistics is not his field of study. But truly: she, the halla, has agreed? Val, great lover and scholar of animals of all kinds, is more amused than he is disdainful.
He makes space for the halla when she makes that sudden and brief preparation to leap over the fence--but he does not grant the beast that space for very long, drifts a few steps closer almost immediately to get a better look.
"The name, does it mean blessing, or is it an entire blessing in a single word?"
