WHO: Iskandar and whoever joins him
WHAT: Iskandar has been matching Thedas months to Earth months and is guessing this is around a certain time of year. So he's hear to hold a memorial of sorts.
WHEN: Beginning of Justinian
WHERE: The docks

This wasn't the Okeanos of his dreams but he felt it would satisfy the time. That was to say he'd been figuring out how the months of this world might line up with those of his own world and had come up with the fact that his might be around Earth's June. The very same month historians had figured out he'd died at the age of thirty-two. Much had happened since that time but he felt that this was a day to honor something. Not him, of course, he had plenty of that already. No today was for those who had died living under his rule.

So he sat at the edge of the docks with a number of wine bottles around him. A couple were empty already to mark how much time had passed since he'd come out here. Around his neck was a small cat who had decided this was his favorite location to sleep even when Iskandar wasn't wearing his cloak. It was just nice to have a solid place to snooze apparently. Also there was a mabari pup next to him, sitting there as if trying to mimic the man in being calm. Not well though considering he kept wiggling about.

Iskandar chuckled and looked over his shoulder, having become aware that he wasn't alone. "Hello there. Would you care to join me? I am honoring the dead with a little memorial of sorts. You are welcome to think of your own lost ones if you like."

"Exactly! That is why I have joined this caused despite being a Rifter! What I see here is amazing work being done for the sake of unity. If that work could be extended beyond the time of the Inquisition imagine all that could be accomplished!" Even now he was dreaming big, ever looking towards a future as bright as the sun.

James shook his head a little, amusement flashing over his expression. "You really, really just cannot resist going for the most positive aspects possible, can you?"

"Hm? Is there something wrong with doing that?" It actually seemed the best way of going about things if one were to ask him about this.

"No ... it just amuses me. I don't know anyone else like you, Iskandar." James smiled a little, looking off to the sky once more.

The King laughed and raised his bottle with a wink. "I take that as a compliment. I love to be unique. It allows people to remember for years and years to come."

[judgemewhole]

"Oh, I do not think Thedas will ever be able to forget you ... " James snorted softly, but it was no sharpness, no rancor. Just amusement.

"For my deeds or simply because I'm very odd?" The good news was that he was very self aware about that fact.

"I think I'll go with both, all things considered." James smirked once more.

He burst out laughing then clapped the man on the back. "Well I can live with that. Sometimes being odd can be very beneficial after all!"

James winced slightly, but at least he was built well enough that a clap on the shoulder didn't send him down into the water. "All things considered with this Inquisition, and where we are now? I agree."

"I imagine you never expected to have a friend like me, did you?" He grinned at him and winked then looked over to see how much wine he had left, curious to say the least.

"Serah, I did not think I would have many friends that I have now. I must say I would be feeling the loss if I had not made them now." James stated simply, his gaze softened with wry humor. He too, eyed the wine bottle, and handed it over. "Before I polish this off, and end up in a place where I make interesting life choices."

"If you were to become drunk around me then I would see to it that you would be taken to bed and allowed rest until you regained your wits." He meant that too. Any friend of his was welcome to intoxication around him and he would make sure they were cared for until they sobered up again.

[judgemewhole]

"And I thank you - please make sure I do not bring home the first attractive person I find? I have a bad habit of that." He smiled ruefully, but it was quite true.

"My friend, I give you my vow that anytime we drink together I will make certain you get to your own bed alone." Sometimes it was important to get friends into the beds of others. Other times it was important to keep friends alone in their beds. He could understand that key difference.

"You, serah, are a scholar and a gentleman. Also strange, but the other two are more prevalent." James nodded his head towards him, offering him a silent tip of an invisible hat.
