Thankfully he was bequeathed quite a bit of leather to run these experiments, because there was a lot he wanted to test. He didn't want to run each subsequent test on a previously used leather either - that would skew results, and he needed these as precise and clean and controlled as possible. Not the lab settings he would hope for, but make due with what you got.

Now all he needed were his assistants.

Kirk squinted against the flash, raising his arm to shield his eyes even as he tried to peek beneath the shadow of it to see where she struck. It was an impressive spell, no matter how many times he saw it. When the last stars had faded from his eyes, he pushed off his little table and went to inspect the leathers, wrinkling his nose.

"Maybe I should make note of how much each one smells when charred..."

"'Terrible' about sums it up." Korrin wrinkles her own nose, waving away any resulting trails of smoke that reach her. "Need a minute before I switch to Lightning Bolt or whatever?"

"Yeah, let's let that clear out," he coughed, his eyes watering now. He moved back towards his table, waving his hand in front of his eyes as he reached for his quill and scratched at the paper. "Feel free to have a bit of wine or some crackers if you like."

"Don't mind if I do." While Kirk writes down whatever, Korrin follows his suggestion and goes to pour herself a little wine. When she's had her fill, she straightens and summons some wind to help clear the air a bit faster.

"Let me know when you're ready for me to zap them again."
