Thankfully he was bequeathed quite a bit of leather to run these experiments, because there was a lot he wanted to test. He didn't want to run each subsequent test on a previously used leather either - that would skew results, and he needed these as precise and clean and controlled as possible. Not the lab settings he would hope for, but make due with what you got.

Now all he needed were his assistants.

Christine laughs, but it soon turns into a cough and she moves back, waving away the scent with a wide arc of her arm.

"Indeed! Do tell our troops not to wear it around Venatori mages!" Because not only would their leather armor be lit on fire, but they'd smell foul until such time as they could finally bathe. "I suppose we might wish to switch to ice magic now, yes?"

"Ah, yes, just give me a moment to take some measurements.... actually, let's break for some wine?" He coughed and backed away from the leathers, motioning for Christine to come with him further afield, grabbing the bottle of wine he had (it was meant for later in the day, but needs must). "I don't want to end up vomiting on the sample specimens."

"Yes, that would be far from ideal." Placing her staff on her back, Christine follows him to where he's kept the wine. There's nothing like a little libation to make the job seem easier.

"I am curious," she begins out of nowhere, "how you and Sam are getting on. You have a home of your own now, yes?"
