Thankfully he was bequeathed quite a bit of leather to run these experiments, because there was a lot he wanted to test. He didn't want to run each subsequent test on a previously used leather either - that would skew results, and he needed these as precise and clean and controlled as possible. Not the lab settings he would hope for, but make due with what you got.

Now all he needed were his assistants.

"Of course." If they were heavier, Inessa would attempt to move them via energizing, but there seems to be no need for that. Once they're all placed appropriately, she nods and moves back into position, gesturing for him to do likewise. Only then does she summon the dark clouds and chill winds that herald a sudden blizzard.

Kirk crossed his arms as the temperature dropped, watching the clouds roil in. He was somewhat surprised by the necessity of them. He had thought it would be more akin to chilling the water in the air to create the ice, not messing with the weather.

"Uh, is this an extreme form of the spell?" he asked, rubbing his arms. "You don't need to push yourself to very much."

As the wind blows, Inessa raises her voice to compensate. "I'm not; this is the spell as it has always been cast. The name is quite literal, but it will end soon enough." Not about to dispel it and negate their efforts, she waits for the clouds to fade and the wind to still. Anything in its radius is frozen solid.
