There are a few people on his regular rotation for following up and keeping an eye on. This is always the one he looks forward to, though, and he knocks on Pel's door with a little stuffed cat in hand. It's not the... prettiest, or the best-made ever, but it's cute in his opinion. Hopefully Little Sina will agree.
"It's Anders, may I come in?"

Little Sina has come to understand that vocalization is the way her kind communicate. She has not yet learned how to say words. Pel opens the door and passes her to Anders with a grin, while Sina is alert and babbling at something Pel just said (specifically, whether she was excited to see Uncle Anders).
"Always. She loves you." And it's true. Little Sina absolutely adores her Uncle Anders, and smiles for him easily when he plays.

"I love you too," he mumbles through palm-covered lips. She gurgles, and he holds up the stuffed cat, a complete bribe to get his face back. It works. Both hands go for it and she starts ramming its head into his shoulder.
"It's the regular visit, of course, but I've got extra time this evening too, if you're free. I like the company." The smile he gives Pel is open; it's safe here.

Baby gurgles again, eyes wide, clearly fascinated by the thing in her hands.
"Patterns and contrasts seem to be what she loves right now," Pel says as she begins to dish up a plate for Anders regardless of his answer. "And now she's been learning to use her hands, she's grabbing hold of everything."

"And that makes sense. She can see better, so variations are fascinating. The whole world is fascinating." The plate gets carefully set out of baby range before he pokes the stuffed cat. "Do you know the noise a cat makes? It goes meow."
The expression on his face is far from innocent. He's going to teach every baby he can to make cat noises. "And how are you doing, Pel?"
no subject
"Tired. It's like every time I figure her out, she changes. Of course I wouldn't trade her for anything."

He shakes his head, looking back at Pel. "I fear she's doing this deliberately, and will be doing so for many years to come. You're doomed." The declaration is a little messed up by an attempt to feed him the cat that he ever-so-gently urges away from his mouth.
"Absolutely doomed," he repeats to the baby who looks at him with wide eyes.

"She likes this," Pel says happily. "And she likes your cat. Did you make it?"

A little bit of mischief enters his eyes as he looks at Pel again. "Perhaps a cow. Every child should know what noise a cow makes."
