[Tiny bones rattle as a hand points to the sky and the shaman is moving, robes made of fur and hide softened by years of wear whispering as they go and the smell of deathroot is stronger, clings to them, comes to crouch before them with a hand set on the earth.
This close behind the holes of the stag skull they have painted their eyelids darkest blue. The night sky when the sun has long since disappeared over the horizon. The skull makes their breath rattle this close.]
Tevinter came and took before any took back. Now they say it is a horn and a wand a man in the sky holds aloft but I see scales, as did the one before me and them before and before and those after me, we will see scales, there are so many scales, covered in scales. Vengeance, the mother of vengeance. [Eyes open, the pupils so dilated it's impossible to tell their colour now staring sightlessly beyond.] Vengeance, justice, one seeks the other, which one is first, which one is last, no balance with swords and blood and the sky screaming.

[But now he had a question.]
What does the Mother of Vengeance seek to avenge?
purple for shaman
[Morrigan speaks at last, not defeated but it hurts to push the words up and out of herself, a savage terrible ache with them when she knows the tales, knows the truth of them.
Wants to scream when those wrongs are so old, so old that all of them are dead and gone and she lives in the skins of her daughters but the shaman stares and she cannot say it so instead she swallows the words with her wildwine.
The shaman picks up when Morrigan does not, approaches this stranger who yes one who has something that they might understand, something that draws the eye.]
Betrayal. What other thing is there but betrayal in this world? Time and time again it comes. You look in the wrong place, and this is all that will be offered to the Inquisition and to you.
Re: purple for shaman
There is little revenge one can take on dust and bone.
...Unless there is another grudge that time and death cannot settle.

[Morrigan almost laughs, draws the breath but doesn't manage it because she can't. It could fall on her. She might not be the focus of all of Flemeth's ire but she has a portion of it, does she not?]
When it comes to some things, the world has a long memory. Once this world thought dragons extinct yet they are not and neither is she. [And so did come the Dragon Age with Maric's crowning. Aided by Flemeth not so much as Calenhad was aided by a witch of his own but there she was, lost to the margins of history but there she was, as she was for the Hero, as she was for the Champion: a soul lost, in need of guidance from a creature such as her.]
How old is the world, how many times has the same slight played out time and time again for it? Struggling with itself as the oldest things return? Corypheus is a Magister who thinks himself a God, if Flemeth seeks her vengeance then it is a world of men who wronged her. She is not human. I have made that plain to so many of you long ago.

[ The concept is well known to Ellana. She wears Mythal's vallaslin on her face and values the same things that the Creator does. She holds her highest in her heart, and so she can relate this to what they're speaking of so she can understand it. ]
Justice is dispensed quickly, but vengeance festers over time.

[Korrin can't help but nod at Ellana's words, finally speaking up again after draining more of the 'wine' and getting lost in thought. She snaps out of that, though, knowing the here and now is worth focusing on as well.]
She probably knows that, though. And if she thinks it's worth that cost anyway, it must be one hell of an earned grudge.
