Master of the Two-Fold Blades

WHO: Alayre Sauveterre & Whomever joins.
WHAT: Sometimes there's nothing like a good spar to get the blood really pumping. In hopes of doing just that, Knight-Commander Sauveterre takes to the training grounds.
WHEN: 22 of Firstfall (Early Morning)
WHERE: The Training Grounds, Skyhold
NOTES: Fighting, sparring, most likely blood and injuries and probably some swearing. Brackets and prose both allowed!

It's not terribly uncommon for Alayre to be found in the middle of practice at the training grounds despite the lofty title he dons. The Knight-Commander is a man of dedication who genuinely adores the thrill of combat. While many may view the man as pacifistic at best, Alayre utterly loves the sound of steel clashing against steel. It gets the blood pumping and makes his heart race. This is why he's out here within the training ground sparring against one of his own men.

The Templars are going blow for blow, their swords striking each others in quick succession. Alayre didn't expect anything other than excellence from his opponent, especially considering the other hails from Pharos as he does. Good enough with a single sword to parry against Alayre's twin blades, the young Templar thankfully knew when to dodge when his commander tries to rush him. Unfortunately the poor man finds himself at the mercy of Alayre's Iceblade the very next moment after a well-timed strike.

A tense silence falls between the two before suddenly laughter erupts. Despite this being something of a duel, it's a lighthearted one. The young Templar may not be the victor but the man finds some humor in defeat. This, of course, wins a smirk from the victorious Sauveterre. Alayre is becoming increasingly more proud of his swordsmanship as of late and for good reason. The Knight-Commander has managed to add a level of fluidity to his strikes that he hasn't had before. His movements are more polished than ever before and his strikes have more power to them. It's rather impressive but oddly frightful.

Templars are not supposed to be able to wield two swords. Just what kind of menace is Alayre? One cannot help but wonder just how dangerous this man is.

Yuna still didn't really understand a lot of it -- the divide between the mages and these templars. The truth was she had tried to stay out of it for the most part, the things she heard usually no more than idle gossip -- and even that, she didn't hold much stock in. But the laughter coming from the training grounds caught her attention, drawing her over just slightly, to watch the two clashing in practice.

She kept her distance, not wanting to disturb the pair, but still -- couldn't help but smile a little herself as one fell in defeat, laughing. They had a sense of camaraderie from the looks of it. Something... Yuna didn't have in Skyhold. Something she found herself longing for.

Perhaps the twin swords were frightening to some, but she looked on in interest, watching their movements with a bit of envy. How she wished she could fight again -- how she wished to be able to move like that, to contribute something more to the Inquisition...

Knight-Commander. Sure, it was likely a title that could strike fear into the hearts of a variety of mages all over Thedas, Yuna however, didn't have the luxury of that fear. It was something that sounded important to be sure, but without extensive knowledge of this world she couldn't place exactly what it meant. A high ranking solider, she could only assume.

"Ah... no," her cheeks flushed just slightly, realizing that she'd drawn attention to herself, and blinked at the greeting bow that she'd received. She returned it with a slight bow of her own, used to these sorts of pleasantries in Spira. "I'm sorry, I hope I didn't disturb either of you..." She hadn't really -- awoken to it, per se, though the sounds had drawn her from her quarters earlier than usual. Sleep wasn't exactly coming to her easily since her arrival in this world.

With a quick glance over towards the rising sun, she smiled, just a little. "I suppose -- there's something to be said here about the early bird getting the worm, right? Or rather -- the early soldier getting the best practice." It was a lame attempt to lighten the air, but a try all the same.
