Teren and the No Good Very Bad Assassin - (The Letter Thief) - Closed

Getting on the wrong side of one of Kirkwall's many gangs was not something that Adasse had a habit of getting into - but he'd been distracted with the disappearance of Haelan and the worry that his best friend had finally hit the wrong side of a fellow but way older pocket by the name of Prickles. To that end, his head wasn't in the game when he took the job for the Dockside Harlots (seriously, what was up with these names? They just kept getting worse every year) - and so he dropped the parcel when on the run from the Kirkwall guard.

The Harlots were not exactly the forgiving types, and Adasse had to promise to take on a high-risk job. The Harlots wanted in on some Inquisition shipments that were going across the water to the Gallows, and so they needed to know the schedule for the next big shipment. Adasse was tasked to grabbing correspondence from an important Inquisition 'nob', because no-one really knew how the Inquisition managed to talk to one another over such long distances unless they had the fastest crows in the business.

So there he was, having snuck over with the rest of a smaller crew bringing over supplies, picking up a bale of something as he scanned the Gallows courtyard. He spotted an older woman, stern face and grey in her hair, holding onto a tight bundle with some sort of important seal on it, and he shifted his direction to run directly into her, and snag a few of the letters, muttering apologies all the way, "So sorry, serrah, so sorry, please pardon me..."

Typical down-trodden city elf, pay him no mind while he slips away with the letters in his shirt.

Or, at least, that was how it was supposed to go.

The Letter Thief - Scouting For Trouble (get it?) - Open

Well, here he was.

Adasse dropped his sack down on the stone of the Gallows, looking around the area with his mouth pressing in a fine line. Here he was. Inquisition promised, scout for ... whatever this thing was. Political movement? Army? Religious Cult? Did they even know?

He sighed, and that caused a chittering inside of his shirt, where an oddly shaped lump rested. He grinned, peering inside of his shirt itself to the chocolate nug nestled inside. "Yeah, yeah, I know. Could be worse. We could be having the Harlots remove all our favorite bits. Still ..."

Another sigh. "Wish we knew what we were getting into. C'mon, let's go find a corner to crash in, some trouble to find." Picking up his sack again, he started moving across the Gallows. Old habits die hard though, and he was already practicing bumping into people with a cheeky smile and a "So Sorry."

Nothing was grabbed. Yet. But it wouldn't do to lose the edge, now would it?

"Why yes it is -- the very best pet in the entire world." And that lump in his stomach? That one you might have thought was an ale gut? Shifted up, and a nug head popped his head out of the opening at Adasse's neckline, snuffling with curiosity. After all, he had heard his name called.

"Come on out, Coco. We have a handsome friend to be introduced to." Adasse murmured, stroking the nug's ears, to let him know it was safe. Coco chittered softly, and climbed up Adasse's chest to sit on his shoulder, leaning down to sniff curiously at Cyril.

Cyril looked delighted as the nug poked her head out. He lifted a hand as if to touch her, but stopped himself before reaching forward.

"May I?" he asked. That would be invading Adasse's space and just because he had said the word 'handsome' didn't mean he would be comfortable with that.

"You may indeed." Adasse gave him a cheeky little smile, stepping one step closer to make it easier for the shorter elf, tipping down a little. After all, he was a giant in elf sizes, at his whole five feet and ten inches.

Cyril steps closer and pets Coco very carefully. He doesn't want to startle her or anything. Once he knows she's comfortable he looks up at Adasse. "Well, it isn't every day that the Inquisition gets two gorgeous new recruits. It must be our lucky day."

Coco makes a happy, chittering nose, and pushes his muzzle into Cyril's hand. Yes, it's a bit confusing on nug gender, considering he's wearing a little blue gown, but Adasse respects his life choices.

One corner of his mouth lifts - oh well played gorgeous one - before he dips slightly. "I hope I'm slightly more gorgeous than the other one, so I can have your full attention."

"Oh, I'd say that's the case, I mean, look at you," Cyril replied. His attention was entirely on Adasse now. His hand still pet Coco gently, but his eyes were entirely focused on Adasse's face.

"Now that you have my attention, what would you like to do with it?"

"Well in comparison to present company -- I'm all right. But let's face it, there's generally roguish handsome and then there's 'dear lord there is a higher power'." Adasse's smirk hitched up a little more.

"I'd like to borrow you for a tour guide, if I might. And ... if that works out all right, then I would of course, offer to buy you a drink. After that is a mutual sort of agreement on what to do next, of course."

"I'll happily give you a tour," Cyril replies then. He also grins at the description that Adasse uses for his looks, but doesn't comment on it as he'd like to focus instead on his next question.

"Where would you like our 'mutual agreement on what to do next' to end up? It is possible that we could go straight from the tour to that, depending on what you had in mind."

"You are too kind, serah." He dips, carefully, because he doesn't want to dislodge Coco, before straightening up again. Both of his eyebrows raised, before his face split into a grin.

"Well I rather wanted to take you off to some quiet place and see if I could charm you into letting me kiss you senseless against a wall ... usually helped if I can flirt outrageously with you throughout the tour. I like to plan my seducutions out over the long term - more enjoyable for everyone."

"Kissing I can do, and more than that if you'd like," Cyril replied with a smile. "Though I am already quivering with anticipation over the flirting. Let's see how long we can delay gratification while I show you around, hm?"

He finally pulls back then, planning to show Adasse the ropes of the Inquisition's operation here.

"I would like more, thank you ever so much." Oh he likes your style, mysterious beautiful Dalish. "Sounds like a plan I can get behind. Oh, by the by, I'm Adasse."

Best to at least know each other's names.

"And I'm Cyril. It's a true pleasure to meet you," Cyril replies, his voice dripping with promise for what pleasure they might have later. Then he gets more friendly than lustful to add, "And your nug friend. We really could use more nugs around this place."

"The pleasure is surely mine, Cyril." Oh My Maker, er Ancestors. Eeeh, whatever. Beyond that you just won some major points there, Cyril. Adasse's smile softens as he strokes Coco's side.

"Well I have always thought that nugs bring a general air of peace and love, so more nugs certainly wouldn't hurt the Inquisition's reputation. Besides, they are so cute."

"They are. We need more nugs and more elves and pretty soon we'll be the cutest army that Thedas as ever seen," Cyril replies, teasing in a playful sort of way. Cute wasn't going to win any wars, but it would make the in between times a lot more fun.

"I will never argue with more nugs - or cute elves. I can guarantee that I am more charming than the big ugly fellow everyone talks about with the spiky things growing out of his face." He shoulders his satchel, giving a sly little smile over to Cyril.

Cyril raises his brow a bit and chuckles. "Honestly, that's the main reason I'm here. To get rid of the ugliness."

Oh, it's been a while since someone let him play up his vanity. He's enjoying it immensely.

"You're doing a marvelous job, well done." Adasse stated with a completely straight face, although his dark eyes glinted. "I think you've upped the attractiveness level of the Inquisition by at least fifty."

"And with you here we're probably well pasted quota," Cyril returned easily. He really liked how it felt to slip back into a flirting with a new person mindset. It was exciting and made him feel as if he still had something within himself that might interest others.

"Why serah, you flatter me. Keep it up, I'm a sucker for flattery. And charm." He banters back, dark eyes bright with humor and intrigue. Oh, Cyril, he does like a man who can keep up with him.

Speaking of which ... "So what do you do around here? I mean for work, and for fun, naturally." He definitely wanted to know more about this mysterious beauty.

"For work, I help out where I'm needed. I can also make and build things, but I've taken to learning more about diplomacy. It can be all very boring," Cyril replied easily. He was teasing a bit about it being boring, but there were moments. "For fun, I do as many men as possible," he added, without even skipping a beat.

"What, talking to people and being fancy about it? Perish the thought." Well, it didn't sound half bad, even though Adasse would have to stick with what he liked best. Which was being in the shadows. Out in the open was just too dangerous by far.

He nearly tripped at Cyril's next statement, before he let out a peal of delighted laughter. "Right, how charming do I have to be for rangy dark haired elves to be on that list?"

"I thought I had implied that you already were," Cyril responded carefully, smiling as he speaks.

Adasse put one hand to his chest, putting on a clearly touched expression. "Well I know I was five minutes ago - but you always want to check to see if you're still being appealing."

He tipped his head to the side, giving Cyril an intent look, and let his voice deepen just that touch. "I know you're very appealing to me."

Then he switched back, looking as airy as you please. "So what sort of things do you make?"

Cyril couldn't help but be pleased at being called appealing. He wondered for a moment if any of the others were home so he could just take Adasse there and enjoy the fact that Sam and Kirk had put him up in their guest room.

"Traps, arrows, and puzzles mostly. If you'd like, we could forgo the tour and I could take you home to show you some of my work." His tone implied that they would be able to do much more than just that.

"Huh, I'd like to take a look at some of those traps..." Adasse could find quite a few uses for all of them, especially in his new legal and illegal job ...

Oh wait now.

Eyebrows shooting up, he seemed to consider it, before he stated with a little smirk. "Amongst other pieces of your handiwork..."
