On the edges of Corypheus' territory, Perendale is the site of a major Venatori offensive--a push by Corypheus' forces to take control of the city and push his influence further across Thedas. The Inquisition's forces have rallied to answer the Nevarran governor's desperate plea for support. The battle for Perendale will decide the fate of hundreds within the city's walls.

The aftermath; putting the city to rights
Perendale's governor at last comes out to address all the soldiers who fought to protect his city from the Venatori, heaping praise and thanks upon all who fought and shed blood,
and lost their lives, in the fighting. He invites the Inquisition to accept what little hospitality Perendale is able to offer in the aftermath of the fighting, suggesting that whatever inns and public houses are still functioning might do well with receiving a bit of business.
[OOC: The threads under this header are effectively the denouement of the Perendale leg of the plot, and you're free to have your characters pursue whatever interests them here. Find some Venatori stragglers? Smite them! Find a tavern accepting patrons? Get drunk and hook up (or don't)! Rescue a little lost dog from a burning home?
Gain a new pet! Etc.]

Sooner or later, she returns to the Perendale City Archives. Given that it was the sight of a battle, it seems only natural to offer aid in restoring it...or at least energizing away any rubble. Admittedly, there is another motive; who knows when she'll have another chance to investigate its contents? The young Warden will undoubtedly spend a great deal of time within unless needed elsewhere, looking for anything that might help either of her projects...and anything else of interest.
[ooc: Either scenario is open for RP! I want her to find rune schematics, either way.]

After he's sure there aren't any more immediate threats, he returns to Inessa and Garahel.
"I found one, but otherwise, all seems to be clear... for the time being. It doesn't mean we won't be ambushed, though, so... no dropping our guard yet." He knows they can rely on Garahel to alert them, at least. "Can I assist somehow? I can climb and pour water in some spots, if that helps..."

After casting another Winter's Grasp, Inessa turns as ice extinguishes another discovered fire. Wiping her brow and certain that it's less than immaculate by now, Inessa frowns in thought as she glances around. "I think it's largely under control, now, but if I have trouble reaching anything, that's an idea.
We should check the Venatori, though. Anything they have on them might be of use to the Inquisition, or explain more about their plans."

"Maybe I just want an excuse to show off my climbing skills," Kain remarks with some amusement, before he returns to a more serious demeanor. "You're right, though. Keep an eye out for any who appear high-ranking, they're more likely to have such information on them. And even if we don't find something useful, we'll probably find some coin at the very least... and that's better put in the Inquisition's hands than theirs." He glances around, but knows exactly where to start, given he's taken down so many of them personally.

"Here I was hoping for perhaps an enchanted ring at the very least. Hm... I think you're probably right. If so, it can't be far off..." Kain glances up for a moment, trying to retrace what he recalls of their movements in the fight. It may help narrow down where such a cache might be kept. "Many of them were coming from this direction here." He points, then starts heading in that direction.

"I hope to find notes, schematics...anything which will tells us more about their plans. We need to know if they plan to repeat this anytime soon, with another city. At the very least, we can keep powerful items away from their grasp."

"...a dozen potions or poisons, some maps...check another, please?"
no subject
"Those maps will be of great use, especially if they're marked up with strategic plans. Finally, we're getting somewhere..." He pauses as something interesting catches his eye. "A rune schematic? Hm, would this be of any interest to you?"
no subject
"Hm...this isn't the same writing as the others. I don't think it's Venatori at all, just something they found and stashed away." And then she smirks, after looking it over more intently. "No wonder; this is for a rune of warding! They must have stolen it, to prevent use from the enemy. Well, their loss is our gain. We'll definitely find use for this."
no subject
"Any particular warding? Though I suppose anything would be of use, if it adds some resistance to someone's armor." There were times, after all, when one simply wished they had applied some rune or other to their armor, if, say, up against fire-breathing enemies for one example. Kain knows the feeling well.

"It will. It does. It's... fortunately not a situation that's come up again lately, but I don't want to let it have a chance to."

She straightens and gestures to the rest. "I can fit the rest of what's worth taking in my satchel, but I think we already found the grand prize."
no subject
He looks around as well, and nods. "That seems to be the most valuable or useful item here, although we've amassed a good collection of spoils overall. It's not bad."
