WHAT: A lots happened since the Fallow Mire. Sam reflects and keeps busy before getting shipped out again.

{Magic Lessons - Before/During/After}
Even though Fallow Mire had been trying, it doesn't mean that he can just take a break from his lessons. Sam is progressing with his Spirit magic with the help of Lady LeBlanc, as well as learning to control Ice spells to a point, though having difficulty. He's also trying to get the grasp on Storm magic with the help of Roul.

{The Armory}
With the new shipment of ores from the Fallow Mire there have been numerous orders for armor and weapons. Seeing as his sparring lessons with Krem have been put on hold for now for... reaons, he spends most late afternoons/early evenings helping with the forges.

{The Library}
He's still having issues falling asleep since the bog so Sam spends a good amount of time in the library in the evenings. That's not the only thing keeping him up. There are a number of crumpled up papers on the floor as he tries to figure out what to say in a letter.

{Wildcard}

That reaction gets a chuckle out of her as she nods in agreement. "It'd probably keep away most hostile wildlife just by being around, but...still not worth it, in the end. We'll manage well enough without, I'm sure." They have a fairly sizable and talented group; between them all, Korrin's certain they can overcome whatever they must.

"Probably the wildlife we'll need to hunt as well. No thanks." He'd also sleep better without it standing outside his tent and just watching, waiting.

"Still interesting that they have three Mages and Krem going on this, or did I miss how scouting missions generally go?"

"It's not my area of expertise either, but that has me cautious. If they haven't just sent in the regular scouts on their own, then they must think they'll need the extra muscle. Emprise du Lion must be a real mess, even worse than the Hinterlands was at first."

That Korrin isn't looking forward to, not exactly, but if her lighting magic -and other kinds -will help out, then that's what counts.

Korrin has a point. If they're sending in a team like them in then something must be really up. "Well hopefully there aren't any bears. Little tired of seeing those."

It'll be interesting to work with Korrin and Christine on this mission. Actually any of them.

Korrin smirks at that, crossing her arms. "You know saying that means we'll end up fighting a horde of them now, right? I can only hope there's some variety to go with it; rift demons, plenty of Red Templars and Venatori to go with them. Maybe even a giant."

Sam gives a dramatic groan at the ones Korrin throws out. "And you're worried about me being a jinx. You just listed things that are five times worse. Least we could eat the bears."

"Again, variety. And giants aren't that bad, as long as you don't let them anywhere close. Between us and any archers, I doubt they will. But fine, just to be nice I won't say anything about all that once we cross the border."

Getting everyone nervous by that point would be counter-productive, anyway. Korrin can't help but hope for some excitement, though. That's the way she is, needing to be in the thick of the action.

Merrick and Krem didn't fight at range though did they? "Honestly I've never seen a giant. Don't think I'm very excited to see one either. A dragon though..."

Korrin glances at him sidelong and shakes her head. "Dragons are great...from very far off. Any closer and it's almost never worth it unless you practically have an army with you. Which we won't, not just yet." Sure, she likes her excitement, but she doesn't have a death-wish.

Well if you were going to go down, a dragon would certainly be a good way to go. "Noted. Still would like to at least see one though. Well... at least one that isn't a twisted piece of nature like the one that attacked Haven at least."

At mention of Haven and the archdemon-like thing that had helped destroy it, she grimaces. "Okay, that I can understand. I'd say we could see if the one in the Hinterlands is still nesting there, but that's in the opposite direction. If I hear of any where we're going, I'll let you know. Just promise you're not going to get too close."

"Oh come on, Korrin. Do I look like someone who would do something that stupid?" He's giving her the biggest smile he has. Look at that face, course he wouldn't. Not by himself at least.

She merely arches an eyebrow at him for that. "It's always the ones you least suspect, you know. Especially when influenced by those who're even more determined to be reckless. Don't get me wrong, I can see the thrill of dragon-hunting. I just want to do it with a decent chance of survival."

"Huh, guess you have me pegged. Good thing I'm not going with anyone who's reckless." He might be grinning now. Christine is about the only person he knows in the group who probably isn't reckless.

"Nope, not at all.

...we're screwed, aren't we." Korrin grins back, knowing this will be interesting and determined to have fun with it rather than spend the entire trip grumbling instead. Besides, she doesn't need to grumble when she can just Fade Step close and bop people on the head with her staff.

"Yep, more then likely we are." He's joking of course. With their group they could probably handle almost anything thrown at them.

"I'm sure we'll be fiiiine. The snow and cold will probably keep us level headed anyways, right?"

"Supposedly, though I'll be sure to make some spiced wine for us, just to keep us warm. And before you ask, no, it's not a special qunari version that's anywhere near as strong as maraas-lok. It's just the standard recipe." But it's one of the few recipes that Korrin knows by heart and can do well, so of course she'll treat others to it.

"Oh thank goodness. That stuff was terrible and we'd probably want to be able to wake up if something does end up finding out camp." Sam chuckles, making a big of a face just remembering the taste of maraas-lok.

Settling down a moment later, Sam gives a content sigh. "I should probably get some food then get to the armory. I'll see you for more lessons tomorrow?"

That expression will just fuel her amusement and teasing him about maraas-look forever, Sam. But she can hold off for now, nodding as she recalls other things needing to happen before she can call it a day. "Sounds good, Sam. I might join you in time for the food, but I promise nothing. A good soak in the hot spring is calling to me."

He's sure she will, probably as soon as Emprise. "A soak in the hot spring sounds great. I might have to consider doing that, at least once before we leave. I'll talk to you later, Korrin."
