I. The Hanged Man
Sometimes found perched at her table by the window with a hot drink of some kind, Teren likes to sit and do her mending where she can hear nearby conversations but is out of the way enough to not appear too approachable.
Which isn't to say she won't talk to someone who sits with her, but, as usual, whether or not she's feeling sociable is a gamble for the person approaching to take.
II. Out and About
Provisioning for the Wardens is a busy job, especially when Teren has also been lending some assistance to the Kirkwall alienage through the worsened weather. Throughout the day she can be found escorting workmen both on foot and in the teetery little ferrying boats from the docks to the Gallows, all of them generally laden with various foodstuffs and other supplies necessary to keeping the Wardens alive.
Perhaps it's the cold ever-creeping into her bony frame, or the ugliness of the weather, but she seems more standoffish than usual. Not angry per se, but pensive and distracted.
III. Her Quarters
A very limited number of people are welcome to call on Teren at home, but they know who they are. Though the door is only left open when she's waiting for Wardens to drop off their uniforms for mending, often a light can be seen through the crack beneath the door, and the faint sound of her speaking to someone, low and gentle.
IV. The Stables
Boots needs feeding and brushing. She visits her druffalo at least once a day to make sure he's being kept well, and often stays to clean his enclosure and yell at anyone she perceives to be bothering him. Boots, for his part, is fine with whatever.
V. Wildcard!

iii
She said she needed the peace and quiet, plus it's nice getting to spend some time with her not-mom-but-absolutely-sorta-her-mom on a not so busy day.
"Nate said I should help him out with leadership work," she says suddenly. "Said I had a great deal of promise."
Aka: Hi mom. Dad is being weird and supportive and I don't know what to do with myself.

When she speaks suddenly, Teren looks up with raised eyebrows. "Will you, then?" she asks idly.
no subject
Or punching, stabbing and blowing stuff up. Being stuck up in an office with busy work? It just seemed like a disaster waiting to happen as she carefully set her sword and whetstone down, itching at her scar in thought.
"My experiences with Warden leadership hasn't been great, you know? Makes it all sort of a mess in my head."
no subject
"Smarter doesn't mean better," she says after a pause, "different things make good leaders. The leadership you dealt with before, did it make you want to change things?"
no subject
Furrowing her brows, she sniffs and then sighs. "I just don't what happened at Weisshaupt to ever happen again. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemies, living in that sort of fear and paranoia toward people that are supposed to be your comrades."

In order to make his presence a little more appealing he brings over two mulled wines in case she's out and then unceremoniously joins her table.
"You're looking well," he starts.

no subject
"Of course not. I wouldn't make you do my mending." It's the most relaxing task he's got on his plate, and sometimes he needs something to just keep his hands busy.
"But it seems you may be doing a little... creating, rather than just mending," he adds with an eyebrow waggle. "You and Loghain?"
no subject
Finally, after a loaded pause, her eyes raise to meet Anders', almost accusingly. "What are you on about," she snaps, knowing full well that they both know what he's on about.
no subject
"You and Loghain have been spending time together in a... close manner, or so his body language would suggest." Teren's seems to always be aloof even when she's not feeling aloof, so he can't go off that. "I thought it a positive sign."

Speaking of Teren, she's soon spotted by the workmen and Garahel trots ahead of his mistress, wagging his tail in greeting. Smiling, she follows at her own pace. "Good afternoon, Senior Warden."
no subject
"Afternoon, Serra," she greets, glancing up over her shoulder to take stock of the elf. "Haven't seen you about much lately."
no subject
She nudges at Garahel gently with her boot, and the mabari straightens, all proud of being a mother hen.
no subject
"A wise fellow, that one," she intones, nodding to Garahel, "you ought to listen to him more often."

"Handsome as always, Boots. You keep at it, eh? Make all the other druffalo jealous.
no subject
"They'd need a brain for that," she remarks, hauling the water over and watching with quiet, unsmiling satisfaction as Boots lowers his muzzle into it. "Luckily, unlike most people, he doesn't pretend he's got one."
no subject
To be fair, she'd ask this whatever kind of beast he was, but it helps that he's provoked her curiosity. It's not as though there are any other druffalo in the stables, after all.

ON A BOAT
The bulk of the Inquisition can spend a lean winter on grain; fabled, predatory lion-birds, not so much. And only so many boats come and go from the Gallows.
So call it providence, or a lack of timely escape routes: They’re in a boat — along with a large quantity of salted eels.
Wren takes advantage of familiar company to let her eyes drift shut a few moments, but it doesn’t last through the swell of waves. Dragging a hand over her jaw,
(Been sleeping like shit lately.)
"Copper for your thoughts."
Well, that’s one way to fund the wardens.

"Where have you come from in such a hurry?"

And it's in everyone's interests to keep track of that. She eyes the fur, the distraction Teren wears near as openly —
Yngvi's muddle of blankets and doubt springs to mind.
"I've heard he has a sort of spring," A loose, spinning gesture to the frigid waters. "I'd hoped he meant the season. Tell me they have you all out of the bloody tents by now."
Kirkwall's a sight away from Skyhold winters, but that's no call to freeze one's tits off. The Gallows and docks don't lack for room.
no subject
She snorts. "You've been to my room, Knight-Lieutenant." Surely at least once, even if not for anything clandestine.

Whether or not Teren is willing to tolerate her presence isn't a gamble for Kaisa--not because it's guaranteed that Teren will, but it's guaranteed that Kaisa won't care. She struts on over across the tavern and plops down across from the older woman, all wide grins and cheer.
"I'm back! Did you miss me? Did you cry? Did Boots cry? I missed Boots."
no subject
"Welcome back," she says with an idle smirk, "glad to see you made it in one piece. Boots missed you desperately." Boots' idea of a heightened emotion is getting grain instead of hay.
no subject
"I'll be sure to visit Boots once I'm back in the Gallows. Make sure he knows I'm back and that I missed him terribly." She laughs, and raises her hand to catch the attention of a waitress, making a gesture for a tankard of whatever was least expired. "Shit, I'm glad I made it back in one piece, too. There were a couple of times I thought that I was going to get skewered by a child who didn't know how to parry right. What a galling way to die that would've been. Worse than darkspawn."
