The dog. Always with the dog, and — Maker, where is Preudame? It's been... a while, since she can last recall seeing the beast.

The thought's as fleeting as any other at present, as easily-dismissed. Mabari are half as smart as bloody children, she'll not starve for a few days' inattention. Not with Yngvi and Gwenaelle about.

"I am hardly walking around," Pacing in circles, limping, certainly (that knee has not quite recovered of the week's exertions). She swipes a dripping streak of ink from her jaw; only succeeds in smearing it more broadly into the muddle of sweat. "No. There is much to be done here, and I'll not tax them further. We need focus."

She punctuates this in the sharp stab of finger upon desk, upon pile after pile of neatly arranged documents, all scrawled into illegibility.

"Limping, then." Inessa promptly sends some blue healing energy her way, though it's going to do little good if Wren won't allow herself to rest and let it recover. She stares at the documents, then sighs.

"This...this is not focus. Ser Coupe -Wren- you are ill. Will you please trust my judgment on this? The Gallows will not collapse if you allow yourself to rest, I promise."

"Nor will it be served for doubt of my decisions,"

That's perhaps harsher than intended. A moment; her eyes shut, open again on a spasm.

"Voss will handle official duties." No doubt, she's already in motion of that. "But my presence in the open would be a distraction, one which endangers future command."

She can't precisely give a level glance at present, not the way her chin dips and bobs with each new start, but under other circumstances it might pass for one. Discretion, a conversation they've had before. Internal politics have only grown more precarious in days since.

"There is work to be done," An eye to the pages again, and it's a touch wider now, a touch more strained. "Even if it is only for my absence."

"Voss...alright. Delegation is good." Inessa only vaguely knows her, but she's relieved that Wren is conceding that much. There isn't going to be any big Forces activity anyway, not with so many of the Inquisition afflicted.

"I know...and it's not my division, but that won't stop me from volunteering my time, if another set of hands is needed for paperwork or such. I can't exactly plan for my own project for the time being, not when so many are afflicted." She's dealing with her own set of symptoms, but so far none of that has caused her to lose focus. So, she'll donate that to where it's needed.
