I'm going to go go go

WHO: One very hyperactive (and sick) Prompto and YOU, you poor sod
WHAT: Let's See What Happens When An Already Active, Happy Dude Goes into Overdrive. alternate title: Magic flu strikes
WHEN: roughly from the 17th of the month through the following seven days or so (basically, before Phase II hits)
WHERE: Throughout Kirkwall. See prompts for specifics
NOTES: Besides illness and fever and whatever stupidity ensues from this,
probably not

1) The First Through Third Days

Prompto Argentum feels like he's on top of the world. Honestly, it doesn't entirely register how unusual it feels, because it's just too good to complain about. Besides, what's there to not be happy about? He's got a friend from home here (even if he does feel kinda bad that Iggy's now trapped here, too) and he's got a girlfriend whom he adores. Then there's all his friends he's made here, and the little niche he's carving out for himself in the Inquisition.

So you know what, he's gonna enjoy being happy. And confident!

A) With this swell of good feelings comes a productivity that's set Prompto out and about the city. There's an itch for him to take photographs but (luckily in hindsight) he's pretty much out of his developing chemicals, so he can't. So he channels his energy into other tasks. He mostly takes on odds and ends tasks, like hauling firewood or just running messages to and fro. He runs from place to place, feeling exuberant and hardly at all tired. Careful, if he spots you (and knows you), he'll definitely come up and say hello in a very excitable fashion. Heck, he might do that even if he doesn't know you.

B) At some point, he's got to be in the Gallows. Don't worry, he's just as bouncy and energetic there. He can be seen running about, doing... Maker knows what, honestly. Does it matter? He's a lean, not-at-all-mean, blond hyperactive machine. And he's chatting up pretty much anyone he comes across.

2) The Fourth Through Sixth Days

Now... it stops being as fun.

The spiked energy and confidence boost is still there, but something begins to feel a bit off. Prompto hasn't slept well the past few nights. But no matter how much he can't rest, he still just keeps going. And going. Eyes a bit bloodshot with bags forming under them, Prompto sets about working on a new project: the ultimate cat tower for Noctis the cat.

Yes, the man who has no construction experience is going to build a cat tree.

If one finds themselves in Prompto's corner of the former mage tower, they'll find his door open, with pieces of wood, nails, yarn (?), rope, brightly colored balls (????), and whatnot strewn about. In the middle of his room is a... structure. Of some sort. Probably the supposed cat tree, but right now it looks more like OSHA's worst nightmare. For those near him, they'll hear the sounds of nails being hammered in and all the cacophony that comes with construction projects throughout the day, at least when he's not running about gathering more materials for his exceedingly ambitious idea of this cat tower.

Poke your head in and ask at your own risk.

3) The Seventh through Tenth Days

Okay, now it's bad.

In addition to running about doing errands and still running amok, Prompto's frantic pace has only increased. Also, he might be running a fever. Also, he still hasn't slept. Those eyes of his are now definitely bloodshot, complete with nice black bags underneath. The man should have keeled over by now, but instead, he's still trucking along.

But he knows he needs to stop and get some damn sleep. So now his manic energy's directed towards finding something to knock him out.

"Hey, you got anything to help with sleep?" There's clear desperation in his voice. "Potions, herbs, magic, a blow to the back of the head?" He's not entirely kidding, either.

4) Wildcard

"You knew a real prince? Get out." She had only ever read about them in stories or seen things about the royal family in England in magazines, ones she would deny reading until she was blue enough in the face to match her hair. She can't imagine knowing one, but that's probably because Arcadia Bay was not exactly the royal family kind of town.

She sighs somewhat sadly at the reminder of the lack of cars, though, and the look on her face is sort of akin to a pout, which lasts through the comment about her dad - and his. "Yeah, he was. Awesome, I mean. If they got cars here, though, I'd die of joy." A beat. "Was your dad not a Fix It kinda guy or was he just not a Teach It person?"

A groan as she scoots over to his side to look. "... Dude." She shakes her head a little. "Yeah, just - take 'em out and respace them. It shouldn't be a problem. Try and keep the new holes away from the old ones, though."

"Just casually best friends with a prince, no big deal." Is she making fun of this? She might be making fun of this. "Sounds like the plot to a Disney Channel movie."

The teasing turns into more of a frown though, because, well. "That sucks." Even with the clarification. Working might be a decent enough excuse, but it still sucked to miss out on a parent, she figured. She always hated how much her mom worked, even if they needed the money.

She goes to grab another few pieces of wood while he gets to work on fixing his nail spacing, clearly weighing the options on which would make a decent branch to dangle some toys from. "So other than having the ability to just meet royalty in high school, what's your world like?"

Well, that sounded familiar. Chloe remembered how good it had felt to have Max talk to her and become her friend, young as they were. And, subsequently, how much it had hurt when she moved away because of it. "He's lucky to have you," she said after a second. It was way more complimentary than she usually was, but hey. "My experiences with princes are mostly limited to the fairy tales, so I'd say it's probably a safe bet that I wouldn't know what one was supposed to be like to guess he was one."

His world doesn't sound too different than hers, though, which she's pretty relieved by. Digital cameras seems like a pretty specific thing to tag on the end, but she's known enough photography buffs to be used to it being listed in The Important Stuff. "Also more advanced. All the same shit you've got it, sounds like, minus that whole... daemons thing. That's nothing like home. Everything was pretty boring for the most part. Magic, elves, dwarves - all that stuff is just ... make believe. Literally. I play a bunch of games back home where you make up characters that can do all this, but no one actually can." Sort of. Kind of. Talking about Max's super powers didn't seem like the best course of action in the moment.

She shrugs a little. "My girl-- ex-girlfriend," she was clearly still getting used to that addition, "was the District Attorneys daughter. Not exactly royalty, but it comes with a lot of people treating you a certain way and expecting you to behave a certain way. I was never like that with her and she said it was one of the things she appreciated most about me." A pause. "The whole ex thing isn't a deterrent from making the point that I'm sure that he appreciates having that too."

A prophecy. Like those are things worlds Just Have apparently. Everyone is from a fantasy story but her, she's convinced. Not that... rewind powered best friends isn't probably fantasy worthy. "Both. Fuck, it's nice to talk with someone who knows about both of them so I don't have to explain. I used to play this awesome elf barbarian in one of the tabletops. She sacrificed herself to save one of her teammates though. It was a sad day."

Burdens was putting it lightly, but she kept the comment to herself. "I usually don't have a whole lot of sympathy for 'em, but the people on top in my town aren't usually very... cool." The opposite, really.

She reaches out to place another piece of wood alongside the tree, grabbing a nail to start hammering in the first branch. She ignored the comment about Callamastia, perhaps because it hit too close to home than she'd expected it too, focusing in on the former statement instead. "Yeah, I tried describing what a photo was to this girl I met here," this girl that made her smile a little whenever she mentioned her, holy shit this wasn't fair, "but I think it mighta gone over her head."
