[Open] They're coming to take me away ho-ho hee-hee ha-haaa, to the infirmary!

WHO: Everyone under quarantine who's sick
WHAT: Attempt to round up all the blueflu affected into a shared space
WHEN: During Phase 3, after quarantine announcement
WHERE: the Gallows and infirmary
NOTES: Please post your relevant content warnings in the headers of responses, all you beautiful hallucinating/sh*t losing butterflies ♥

With the Rifters drifting in and out of memory, the Templar needing a near constant slow infusion of lyrium--some needing to be doped up with sleeping draughts as fast as Colin, Christine, and the others who’ve devoted their time to the pursuit can make them--and the runners moving slower and slower as they sleep less and less, it's decided that moving everyone to a more easily watchable location for care would be the best, and safest, play.

[Nahariel, Colin, Audra, and any others who remain blessedly unaffected and volunteer are headed out to wrangle you... u mad?]

I. This is Fine

Coming (semi-)quietly? Drop a tag here to let us know, or if there's anything you want anyone to know about your movement, or if you want to hang with others in your new vaguely slapdash home. You live here now.

II. You'll pry my room out of my cold dead hands!

They're going to try to push for it, but aren't going to force you. They do need to know where you are, especially the Rifters... who keep being forgotten just this side of entirely. Your location information is going to be taken down, and they'll continue to come visit you. This can be handwaved, or we can thread it out!

[If you'd like your poor sick bb to be dragged out kicking and screaming, go ahead and indicate that in your tag. Alternately, send me a line @ [plurk.com profile] shaestorms and we can figure out how to pry you loose together. Once you're there, throw a tag to whine about it if you like!]

"Look at me..." he cups Fingon's cheek against his hand, giving him a loving smile, "Before we venture out, we should know what we might encounter."

Then, in a low, calm voice, he details the creatures he has been told about/read about.

Fingon has been reading about some of them as well, but it's always nice to hear more. And in Maedhros' warm, familiar voice as well.

...He can stay for a little while longer. Besides, Maedhros isn't feeling well, and it would be a pity to go without him.

"Which would you like to see, old friend?"

"The Wyverns and the Great Bears intrigue me most." his voice softens and he grins, "They call the Bears the Old Men of the Forest. I think they must be majestic. And the Wyverns are venomous on top of being the size of a Dragon."

So he might be a tad reckless. But can Fingon really blame him? They are fascinating creatures.

Blame him? This sort of thing is at least a quarter of why they get along so well.

"Both excellent choices," he grins up at Maedhros, "but I think we shall have to look harder for them. It seems the worst monsters here are giant spiders, and those are dull fare."

Odd to say, for anyone who remembered the Gloomweaver's work, but not untrue.

"You have never been impressed by spiders." he smirks and rests his lips against Fingon's shoulder, "We must venture out further and I do not mind the journey. If we do, our family will follow." and the only one he truly worries about is Maglor.

His brother is weaker - much weaker - than he lets on.

[personal profile] utulien_aure 2018-02-27 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
"There's no point in being impressed by spiders," Fingon tells him, "it only encourages them."

It's easy to follow where Maedhros' mind is wandering, and Fingon frowns absently before pressing their foreheads together. "He'll be all right. We'll be there to look after him."

Which is maybe being unfair to Maglor- who is still stubbornly alive long centuries after the rest of them fell, and should probably not be underestimated- but it's what Maedhros needs to hear.

"Do you use that logic on the small spiders too?" he winks and leans his head back against the chair, "I would say that logic applies to all Dark beings, wouldn't you? I can tell you that their arrogance comes directly from their Master."

Both of them, actually. Not that Maedhros paid any mind to Sauron. He hums at the contact, stroking over Fingon's cheek.

"He is calmer when we are near. Surviving is not the same as...thriving." he presses his lips to the edge of Fingon's lips, "He needs to come out of the shadows."

"It works on many things, in my experience," Fingon answers and gives an easy shrug. "I have not yet tried it on every creature of the Dark, but it would not surprise me if the pattern held."

No one should pay attention to Sauron, Sauron thinks far too much of himself.

"It is not," he agrees. "But we cannot push him too far, too soon. Nor can we underestimate him, either, of course- but where is the happy medium?"
castintoflames: (✧ and I don't want your heart)

[personal profile] castintoflames 2018-02-28 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
"The pattern is solid." he agrees, teasing aside, "There is not a grand array of traits amongst Dark creatures. If you know one, you know all of them."

Maedhros hates the sight of that glittering Maia. He longed to punch him just for the sake of causing him pain.

"Kano has no happy medium. He is all or nothing. I hold onto hope for him because he has not refused us. He has not refused me." his voice quakes, "I will hold him upright until he can walk on his own."

"That would explain a great deal about some of the orcs I've met over the years. The few we captured always did turn out boring as well as brutish."

A pity Maedhros has irritated Galadriel, they could have had a Hating Sauron Club together.

"Did you think he would?"

"That is why it is best to behead them upon meeting them." he has zero patience for Orcs - even if they have essential knowledge. He will just...find it elsewhere. They are gross.

He needs to contact her.

"...yes." he looks away, "What I did was unforgivable between us."

"Even orcs deserve a chance, if we can afford to give it," Not that the preceding condition often occurred, battlefields being what they were. "Who knows? Maybe one will take it one day."

That might be a good idea. Or a very bad one, if he's going to be stiff-necked about it.

Fingon looks mildly at him. "In my experience, forgiveness is not so black and white as all that."

"Then you give them a chance. I do not have the heart or patience to do so." not when he had fond memories of them heckling him while he was in chains, "They are too stupid, Finno."

Stupid and cruel.

"Vows are black and white. I failed to uphold mine." he looks away, "We lost everyone except each other. I feared him perishing or leaving me so much that I -" his eyes close, "I manipulated him. I knew how to twist his feelings to my advantage."
