Being quarantined is unfortunate. But necessary. Bad enough he's sick and that people aren't quite sure if it's contagious or not. He doesn't need anyone freaking out, and he'd rather be around the job and around Christine while shit's figured out.
He can't stay with the healers forever if there's not much they can do, but he's around if tests need run, experiments done, blood sweat tears. He's always the first to sign up or volunteer whenever something needs tried. But otherwise he tries to do what jobs he can. Tries to avoid the kitchens after all the nonsense with the frying of everything.
It...becomes harder when people seem to forget he's even around, and sometimes he has to get in someone's way to even get their attention. He sometimes keeps Ponce with him when Christine can't have the pup underfoot, but...slowly, even Ponce doesn't seem to want to be around him, or even growls at him until the dog seems to remember for a little bit.
Things get interesting when he starts to slowly grow incorporeal. A moment of holding a mug, and it clatters to the floor. He pushes a door open only to have his arm go through it and his face hit the wood. It's concerning at first, then elating. This is familiar! This he knows! He's getting back to being the ghost (the AI) he knows--only, it's at random times, uncontrolled, and pairing that with the moments of forgetfulness? Maybe it's not to do with him. Maybe it's just a symptom. Then what does that mean?

Kirk jumped when the much crashed, turning to look at Church and his eyes widened when he saw the state of him.
"Oh, well that's just what we need to happen next."

But at least the Rifters remember each other.
How long is that going to last if now things just fall through them? Church stares at his hand, flexes it, goes to touch something else only to kick his leg through a chair. After a few moments, he does it again, and the chair clatters.
"Yep." He doesn't even look too perturbed when he looks up at Kirk. "This would happen. Might the fuck as well."

"Wonder if it would last long enough for us to get out of here," he said, crossing his arms and pacing a little, the perfectly rational confinement making him twitchy, to say the least. He wrinkled his nose. "Maybe not. It would switch off right when we're halfway through and then we're stuck and then we have to explain things... complete mess." He focused on Church. "Unless you want to experiment?"
no subject
Well, when he puts it that way?
"We should start small. Like. With a spoon or something. Rather than go running at walls and hoping for the best. It's kinda neat, I just wish I could tell it when to turn on and off. Intangibility rocks."

"That is true. It could be like the fever symptoms and kind of come and go with the lucidity," he frowned, tapping his foot, constantly moving in one way or another. Being still had never been a strong point for him, and not now. He smirked at Church. "Care to share?"
The way he said it suggested he fully expected some raunchy antics, Church.
