Gallows
With his lightsaber in hand, Kylo can be found training rigorously in various forms. He's careful to practice at a distance from anyone else, should they get too close. Starting his training, feet planted firmly and hand holding his weapon out as if to point it at an unseen target, he swings and swirls the lightsaber in his hands in fluid motions. Each time he avoids hitting the dummy directly, occasionally stopping his blade on either side of the target. The last thing he wanted to do every time he trained was to break a training dummy.
He focuses on more than just his blade work, however, practicing his breathing, the bend of his knees as he strikes, and keeping his body a firm immovable object against his opponent. Eventually he takes a break, brushing his messy shock of black hair from his eyes and shrugging his shoulders, the glowing red light withdrawn into the hilt once more.
During his point of resting, he stretches his arms, reaching down to his toes or crossing them one over the other to loosen each muscle. The rigors of training gave him something to channel his energy into, finding focus in his thoughts through the effort he expends with his blade.
Kirkwall
Having washed the sweat and grime from training away, Kylo can be found exploring the markets and other points of interest within Kirkwall. Lowtown was bustling with life as he browsed the Market District, winding streets drawing his attention now and again as he went from shop to shop. It was far from home, but it was starting to feel as such once the routine had set in.
Stopping at a food stall, Kylo turns over a piece of fruit with a careful gaze as he examines it for any flaws. Eventually he would make his way towards the the next shop, stopping to see the wares that Lowtown had to offer.

She watches him relight the blade, though, tilting her head as it flicked and cracked, far more ... well, violent, in a way, than the steady stream that Rey had shown her. She wonders if it's supposed to be like that or if the stabilization he talked about wasn't all that stable after all. If she'd known anything about the technology, she'd have made a comment, but she didn't and so all she can do is stare in awe of the fact that it works at all.
"There's nothin' like that back home. I mean, maybe toys that work kind of like it, but they're light up plastic, so uh. Definitely not the same."
no subject
"Whatever you say, you blue haired gremlin." Was that affection? Surely not.
"Light up toys? Huh." He shrugs, twirling the hilt in his hand once, carefully pointing the blade away from her, before turning the weapon off again. "Well, this is definitely not a toy. Someone inexperienced with it could lose a hand or an entire limb. It's a bit more intimidating than a blaster, though, I think."
Or gun. Same difference. Either way, he deposits the lightsaber back to his belt and shoves his gloves in his pocket. He was done training for now.
"What have you been up to?" Small talk wasn't his strong suit, but since she's here he'll try it. He couldn't really find anything else he wanted to particularly talk about.
no subject
She flexes her hand a little at the idea of losing a limb, definitely pulling her arm back even if she hadn't been fully reaching for the weapon anyway. Those were the same reasons she hadn't picked up a sword. It wasn't something she was sure would end up safely, no matter how much she and Loghain told her she could learn.
"Had to go and talk to a university class recently. They wanted me to convince 'em that Rifters like us aren't actually demons. Probably should've chosen someone... not me, seeing as getting them to look passed the hair was hard enough, but c'est la vie."

Their 'lesson' can wait for now. He's interested in what these natives might have to say in response to any attempts on their part to show that they are non-threatening. For someone like Chloe it was't hard. She didn't carry a glowing sword or push and pull objects with a flick of the wrist.
no subject
There's a small shrug of her shoulders though after it, and the bit of confidence disappears, because she's sure it'll come back to bite her somehow. "University students are always more open minded though. There were definitely a handful that still didn't trust me farther than they could throw me, but I tried."
no subject
It was certainly vibrant and not the most drastic color. If he recalls, one of the Resistances' leadership had purple hair. People weren't immune to experimenting with their looks back home any more than the next world. It made Chloe unique, made her stand out. When she makes the quip about trust, he can't stop the quip he sends right back.
"You're skinny enough. I could probably throw you easily." He knew that wasn't what she meant but it was still a fun bit of humor between - were they friends? He had found her irritating at first but now, she wasn't the worst person to befriend.

There was a tug in her heart at the memory, Rachel's body still fresh in her mind even after all these months, and she quickly swallowed the pain to focus on other, more humorous things.
Like that Kylo Ren just made a joke. "Holy shit, Renny, you have a sense of humor? You're just showing me all knew sides of you I dunno how to handle." There's a pause as she looked down at herself though, hands resting on her hips. "Besides, I could be one of those black hole mother fuckers who weighs a lot more than she looks. You might not even be able to lift me for all you know."
Yeah. Right, Chloe.
no subject
"Don't call me that." He says it automatically, but there isn't the usually irritation behind it. "Either Kylo or Ren is fine." He only let Rey call him by his birth name but he hadn't told Obi-Wan off for doing it too. He wasn't ready to go into the name change with her, feeling like she might find another reason to make fun of him if he did tell her.
After a moment, he looks her up and down, adopting a thoughtful gaze as he takes her in. Without a word he moves in, bending to scoop up her knees while holding her against him with his arm around her torso. He didn't touch her with any disrespect behind it but he expected her to be taken by surprise. She was about the same height and build as Rey, though Rey had been malnourished when he carried her and it made her almost skin and bones compared to Chloe.
"See? Not heavy at all." If she had been it wouldn't be hard to use the Force to brace her against him either. He was definitely no slouch when it came to lifting. Of course, now that he has her in his arms he realizes they're a bit too close for comfort. He can't help but freeze in place, surprise making him raise his eyebrows. He didn't get close to people at all. Not like this.
no subject
Reactions to being picked up, however, were abundantly clear; she'd stiffened at being touched at first simply because she hardly ever was - at least not in a friendly manner - and it had caught her off guard. But she'd relaxed as she'd realized what he was doing, eyes rolling as she let her head fall back with a dramatic groan. She hadn't been serious, but leave it to him to be cheeky enough to make a point.
"Show off," she said finally, though she at least hadn't been making any real struggles to get down. Nope, she seemed pretty okay with it, even, and took the time to poke at the muscles on his chest like she was trying to decide if they were real or not. "Are you one of those dorks who works out when they're bored? Cause damn, dude."
no subject
"You're the one who said you were too heavy. Isn't this something girls like? Being swept off their feet or something?" He's not actually serious, of course. He had known far too many women who were definitely not the 'swept off their feet' type - more specifically he'd been raised by one.
He puts her back on her feet again with ease, shaking his head. Where normally people were terrified of him and kept away, she showed none of that. Part of him wondered if it was because she wasn't Force sensitive and another part wondered if she just didn't care that he made natives uncomfortable just by standing near them.
"Not when I'm bored, no. Usually when I need to work off energy." Typically when he was angry, to be more specific.
no subject
There's an eye roll when he mentions working out when he had to blow off energy, because of course he would. "That sounds gross," she said without any irony in it. Working out in general clearly wasn't something she was fond of. No, her skinny ass came from a natural ability to burn through calories like they were going out of style without having to life a finger. It was a blessing that would probably disappear in five years or so.

"It's not like I walk around covered in sweat all day after." He does shower, thank you very much. "Besides, I think you'd enjoy it more if you weren't so wimpy."
It was clearly an off day for him if he was making silly comments at her expense in a light-hearted way and with no malice behind it..
no subject
After a pause, she lifts her hand to punch him in the arm - a surprisingly solid punch, considering, but she'd been in a few of her own fights to at least know how to hit with some force behind it. "I'm not wimpy! I'm lazy."
no subject
"Well I can definitely fix lazy. If you want I can start dragging you out in the morning on runs with me and Rey." He can't help but feel slightly embarrassed to admit that he went anywhere with Rey, let alone on something so mundane as a morning run.
no subject
But then he's talking about morning runs and those are two words that make her want to gag, so she's pulled a face fairly quickly and giving a groan at the thought. With only a mock serious face, she pushes herself up to full height, almost able to look him in the eyes this way, and points a finger at him.
"You try and pull me out of bed before noon and you're gonna regret it, Ron."
no subject
"Besides, you miss things like the sun rising. If you went with us you'd get to pet Rey's mabari." He knows Chloe enough to know that dogs would be something she liked. He didn't hate the beast, that's for sure. She protected Rey and didn't try to tear his arm off.
no subject
"Besides, Rey's let me pet her mabari anyway, so I don't need to get up that early to do it."

The First Order had stuck to the barely inhabitable Outer Rim for many of the years of his tenure, up until they'd decided to pursue the Resistance's fleet. It hadn't been the best life, but it had been the one he'd chosen. Now he sees another way, even if he knows it will be all for nothing if they ever go back.
"I was hoping that would be a reason to get you out of bed in the morning. You know - I don't think I've ever met someone who wasn't really a morning person, not for a long time anyway." His father maybe? He had a million other habits that irked the younger Solo, of course, the least of which was his inability to keep anything clean.
no subject
She liked sleeping the day away. It meant not dealing with David.
"Glad I could be a change from your usual, though. Maybe you should make friends with less morning people. It might brighten your disposition."
