WHO: Christine, Ellana, Tessa, Minka, & Julian WHAT: doing various things throughout the latter half of Cloudreach WHEN: Cloudreach 15th - Cloudreach 30th WHERE: The Gallows
Prompts are in comments so I only get notifs once.
If someone were to call Tessa a warrior, she'd laugh. She's a short little thing who's somehow lucked out and managed to stay alive. The truth is, she is a warrior of a kind, but she doesn't recognize it in herself. At least not yet.
"Oh, ok." She nods her head as if she understands, and does take a second to wrack her brain to recall if she's heard the name before.
Nope. Nothing. Wait-- maybe something from history? Or the movies? But neither of those apply here.
"Um, yeah. I was told about it. I mean, about the Chantry and the Maker." Of course, her source was an apostate mage, so not someone too inclined to think well of either.
Tessa knows of people who fight in the name of religion, but she has no idea exactly what that means here. Stuff from the nightly news at home doesn't really translate the exact same way.
"So you guys can have side jobs? I mean, being a Templar obviously doesn't mean you can't work here too."
"Oh good, all right." That's a relief. Honestly they really did need to get those classes going once more, about what Thedas was all about. These newcomers had absolutely no idea what was going on.
There was a pause, before he stated simply, "I am a Templar of the Inquisition - which means whatever job they assign me, I do to the best of my abilities. There are few blood mages running around here ... that I know of, so I am putting my expertise with weaponry and armor to good use by running the armory proper."
"Blood mages," she replies with her head cocked, as if she's unsure if he's making that up. "Please don't tell me they drink blood." Don't tell her vampires are real. She's already heard about there being werewolves here and doesn't want to be the protagonist of a young adult supernatural romance, please. She's way too old for starters.

"Er, What are the Templars?"

-- or then again...
"...the Templars are a religious order of warriors, who fight in the name of the Maker." Another pause, "Do you know who the Maker is?"
