The day starts out fairly normally, Beleth in the training room, a grenade in her hands, that she's inspecting closely. "Confusion grenades are so important," She's explaining, "Because they cut out a lot of work for us. With our enemies attacking each other, we can wait on the sidelines and let them wear themselves down on one another, before we risk any of our own." But this one is different, new, and she needs to make sure that it actually functions like a grenade, before going trying it in the field.
So, without further ado, she lights the fuse, and starts to toss it. But the grenade has barely left her hands before it goes off, a fantastic explosion that knocks Beleth off her feet.
Rising to her feet, the Scoutmaster seems to be none the worse for wear, save a quick round of wheezing coughs. A few moments of silence follows, Beleth staring at the ground as she gets her bearings, and then slowly turns to look around.
It's hard to think, mind wrapped in a hazy fog that offers little room for thoughts, aside from one.
--Enemies. She's surrounded by enemies. How did they get here? Is this an assassination attempt? How--? It doesn't matter. All that matters is that she deals with them before they hurt anyone else.
A dagger appears in her hand, and without warning, she darts at whoever is closest, slicing at their face as soon as she's within range.

To him, he decides that the first person who should be treated to his faithful return is Beleth. As such, he does the most probable romantic(??) thing possible, which is waiting on her windowsill, shirt tastefully(??) open, and a jeweled flower in hand.
So when the door opens and it's her, he winks.]
Missed me?

Never mind, though, she doesn't need her dagger. A quick strides see her across the room, and one hand slams on her windowsill, right next to Fate's head, and the other grabs his collar, pulling him towards her. This in and of itself might not be entirely alarming, all things considered, but the look in her eyes hints that something is amiss. There's no recognition, no warmth, or relief that he's alive. Just cold anger, and the hiss: ]
Who sent you? Tell me who your master is, or I will wreck you.
[ Or: Maybe she's just in A Mood. ]

The way she looks at him gives some... kind of impression that something is off, on the other hand.
Still, he tries for a chuckle and he says lewdly:] Maybe I want you to wreck me. This is foreplay now? Please say it's foreplay.

Where did my dagger—did they take it? Just a minute, don’t try to kill me just yet. [ It’s a good thing he isn’t an actual assassin. Beleth steps back, heading for her desk, where she leafs through the papers scattered over it, with Sorrel’s untidy scrawl saying things like 'eat food or you'll die' and 'they aren’t trying to kill you, dumbass'. She stares at these for a moment and then, suddenly calmer, begins arranging them. It seems like she’s just completely ignoring Fate for a minute, until she looks up, and with a startled jerk, notices him for the first time (again). ]
Who—What are you doing here—?
