The room that Resa has claimed is large, luxurious, and definitely was not intended for her perusal. But things like rules and what’s allowed has never stopped her before—she’s just quieter about it than some of the other rifters. What the leaders don’t know, and what doesn’t inconvenience them, will probably not hurt them.
For a place she’s technically squatting in, Resa’s done her best to try to make it homey. And unfortunately for everyone else, that includes a whole lot of bright neon patterns, and Lisa Frank decor. From the rainbow cheeta print bedspread to posters of kittens and dogs among neon roses, the bedroom is decked out in enough colors to give a blind person a headache.
Nevertheless, when Daniel arrives on the top floor, Resa throws the door open before he even reaches it. Maybe she heard him, or just has good timing.
“Oh, hey, you are cute. I guess I better brush up on my emojis.” She flashes a grin at him, and whirls around, back into her bedroom. “You’re just in time to try my attempt at a mocha. Hot, unfortunately, because I haven’t figured out how to make a blended frappuccino.” Here, she turns back to make a face at Daniel. Well, she did warn him.

He's thankfully not required to respond to that, because she's already swooping back inside. Besides, she fits the 'cute' descriptor better than he does, with the pink hair and everything - though he doesn't say that, because that generally comes across in ways he doesn't intend.
"I generally prefer my coffee hot anyway, so-- Wow."
His amused smile is quickly replaced with surprise, taken aback by just how intense some of this interior decorating is. He feels like he's forgotten some of these colours even existed since he came to Thedas.
...Is that rude though? Yeah he's probably being rude.

Can’t imagine why.
"It makes everything feel a little less...medieval, yanno? Reminds me of home." She sinks into one of the plush chairs, and gestures at Daniel to the other one. "Back on Earth, I tended to travel a lot, and one thing I learned: It’s important to have wherever you’re staying feel like a home, even if you don’t know how long you’ll be staying there for." Before your crazy ass gang lord father finally finds you and you have to haul ass. As one does.

In the sense that it causes great surprise, yes, it is amazing. He's not going to argue the details of semantics (though he could - he does have a doctorate in philology). He'd agree it makes things feel less medieval, but 'like home' would be a definite stretch.
Daniel smiles, taking a seat in the other (plush??) chairs. "Yeah, me too," he answers, nodding. "Though I found home to be more about people I was with and activities I was engaged in. The physical stuff doesn't matter too much to me, when it comes down to it." Mostly he just likes to be surrounded by old things filled with history. That's what puts him at ease.

"I mean, I doubt anyone I know is gonna pop through a rift." At least, she really hopes not. "But this stuff came here." At 'stuff', she waves to the various brightly colored decor. "I guess activities would count, but snapchat doesn't work, here. I tried it."
She gives a small hum of thought. "Though I guess I should get around to figuring out some new activities, if I want to have an actual job around here. Unless sitting around and being pretty counts for anything." Daniel gets a wink shot at him over Resa's cup of mocha, though her mood turns back to contemplative as she thinks over what she said. Jobs are...kind of lame, but necessary, probably.
