She hadn't expected someone to come up to her while she was working - maybe it was because she was just getting used to natives ignoring her and the rifters were such smaller numbers, it wasn't likely that they'd come up and say hello too often. So her head shot up in surprise when she hears his voice, having mostly been involved in trying to tighten a newly placed bolt instead of focusing on whether or not someone might have been approaching her.

There's a snort, though, when the question registers, and she gives the make-shift beginnings of an engine a frustrated shove. "More like what isn't," she said a little bitterly. "I'd watched a couple videos back home on how to make a combustion engine using hardware parts and I thought since this place had, well - most of the basics, it'd be a little easier, y'know? But fuck me, I guess." She'd paid extra to have the proper length pipes made, clearly, since she'd no welding experience in her life, but she was starting to realize she was going to have to fashion her own gears too. But she was sure some stranger didn't care much about that. "Or... maybe you don't know. I don't know."
