[Open] Cue Inspiring Music?

WHO: Bethany Hawke-Darton and You
WHAT: Bethany works on ... Things.
WHEN: After the Phylactery Nightmare Began, before Tourney Nightmare Begins.
WHERE: Kirkwall, The Gallows
NOTES: Warnings for Pensive Bethany TM.

Training Things?

Bethany had no intention for training for her participation in the Grand Tourney - she had merely come to watch Carver and Fenris compete - but then Thrandruil made the bet and she could almost See his ageless eyes boring into her. Looking at her as she stammered to a halt and finally agreed to go through with it. So it was with less ... gumption than usual that she went to where mages could hit targets, and started casting Fireball along the line, trying to speed up her attacks. Fractions of a second were crucial in mage battles, after all.

They were sort of ... half-hearted fireballs though. Less fire, smaller ball, that sort of thing.

Social Things?

Here, Bethany was a bit more lively. She earned her nickname, after all, for being warm and calm and she brought that down to Darktown when she went to help hand out more socks and bags of flour. She had taken Colin's call to arms to heart, and she would meet with people who remembered her, or her sister, and their friends. Holding their hands, helping them with leaks in their roofs. They had nothing to fear from her.

She also spent time in Hightown as well, speaking for the cause of the Wardens as she wandered Andraste's Grove with the well-bred of the city. Speaking of how important it was, with a Darkspawn Magister on the loose, to see that the Wardens were well-funded and well supplied.

Strangely though, some might see her in the Hanging Man, leaning over the bar, in fierce whispers with the barkeep. Coin changes hands, several times, during these conversations, and when Bethany leans away she looks like a cloud has come over her face.

Reading Things?

The rest of her time is taken in her research - pouring over Warden tomes, Tevinter history, anything the Inquisition has managed to get their hands on. You'll find her dining alone, a stack of manuscripts next to her and un-eaten meal at her elbow. Tea steams beside her, and once or twice she'll take a sip of that, but her mind is on her notes and reading.

Training

Inessa is alone for once, no Garahel in sight as she approaches the training area. A regular visitor in the off hours, she now gives in to a more conventional time slot for as duties have shifted. She pauses upon seeing Bethany already there, taking a moment to watch the more experienced mage at work. If her fire doesn't seem as impressive as usual, she refrains from comment.

"You're preparing to join the tourney as well, then? I should have known it was too much for a Marcher to resist."

Inessa raises an eyebrow back, at that. "It's mandatory? I suppose I should have given the sending crystal my undivided attention instead of reading. Though I hardly got any done afterward, either; Andraste's Mabari became lodged in my head. I swear I was still humming it in my sleep."

"Sorry." Inessa chuckles, only slightly repentant. If she has to suffer, then at least she won't do it alone.

"We could always try to team up, if you like. Your magic and mine can be rather potent when combined...?"

"If that happens, I quite understand. They deserve all the pampering we can give them, and more." She smiles fondly, eager to see the hatchlings emerge. "Do you think we will have naming rights? Or have the senior Wardens not decided on that yet?"
