There is a knock on Cyril's door. It's Colin's first visit since Cyril moved into the Gallows. When the door opens, Colin is standing there holding Antivan brandy and a potted plant.

"Happy housewarming," he says, holding out the plant. "It's about thyme."

"I don't really use them like that," Colin says carefully. "It's harder than just lifting with arms and legs. But, um, I came to ask if you know how to tattoo. Given..."

He draws the vague lines of Cyril's vallaslin over his own face.

Cyril had figured that to be the case, or else Colin would be helping everyone with all heavy lifting. The request catches him a bit off guard.

"Oh... You know, I wasn't the one who did this to myself. I sort of know how it's done, but I've never done one before. If I had stayed with the Dalish I never would have either, as it's usually done by the Keeper and I am no mage."

Colin raises a finger. "Put a pin in that thought, I'm going to ask you about Dalish mages in a moment. But for now..."

He takes a paper out from under his arm and unfolds it. On it is a sketch of a flower and bud, bearing a resemblance to a common crocus, only with very long stigmas.

"You know what goes into it, I know what goes into it, and you're good at drawing. I have ink and needle. Do you think you could do this, on my arm?"

Cyril blinks a couple of times because he honestly can't believe anyone is asking him to do this. "Perhaps I should practice on some leather first?" He isn't saying 'no' but he does want to make sure he won't completely mangle the design on Colin's skin.

That stunned reaction would be a major clue that Colin needs to slow down, if Colin was in a receptive state of mind. He's not. He's tired of seeing himself without this tattoo.

"Of course." Why stop and find someone in Lowtown with experience when Cyril is right here? "Do what you need to do. When you're ready, you can draw it on my arm with ink to start."

Cyril nods at that. He goes to find some leather for him to practice on. "Sit down. Let's relax and talk while I test it out."
