They were all alerted of the meeting time beforehand, with no particular urgency (but they better be there all the same). Teren is at her desk when they enter, and she stands with the air of someone who's about to deliver important information but isn't interested in making any long-winded speeches.

"All our mages have gone their own way," she announces with no preamble, "which means the days of expecting Anders or Inessa to magick your limbs back on are over. I expect everyone,"

She reaches into a drawer and begins to withdraw a line of little flasks containing a red liquid. "...to carry at least two healing potions on your person at all times. Won't stop your guts falling out, but might keep you alive till we can get you to a proper healer."

Portioning out two each, she scoots the vials toward each Warden present.

"This also means we're more bloody cautious, we don't pick fights we can't win, we don't find traps by stepping on them," she cuts her eyes briefly to Alistair, "we use our heads or we lose them. Any questions."

After a moment, she glances between Ashen and Ellis. "And welcome." except ellis

Teren was about to snap something back at Alistair, but Barty does it for her. She looks at him, then at Alistair, expectantly. There may even be a smug little glint in her eye.

From the sidelines Ellis' gaze moves from Teren to Alistair, as if watching a tennis match.

No contributions from him, but duly noted: Teren has friends who may or may not stab them in the course of a mission.

He'd been prepared to take whatever Teren saw fit to give him, for that, and in good humor to boot. But Barty's intervention tightens his smirk into something markedly less cheerful, and Teren's apparent alignment behind him cements it that way.

"I was implying," he says, "that part of being cautious is not keeping secrets, so everyone can be prepared for something before they walk into it, and I don't care if you look kindly on that or not."

Alistair seems irritated with Barty for intervening, and now Teren is irritated with both of them for derailing.

"I think we've long since learned from our mistakes," she says, sighing through her nose at Alistair, "and, Maker willing, we'll be sticking to darkspawn anyway."
Who, at least at their best, don't really plot assassinations.

Maker willing indeed. Ashen doesn't seem particularly concerned about the notion of Teren having any kind of secret - it's not his business, after all, and he likely has enough of his own, hand twitching against the ring by his neck - but he does smile warmly, offering a bow with one arm across his chest. Formal, polite, very Orlais, which he recognises almost immediately. He is far from home - whatever home means to him now.

Cold, mostly.

"Sticking to Darkspawn does seem preferable," he nods, arms settling behind his back as he smiles. "Though I am willing to learn more field medicine, should it be necessary."
