This is Captain Malcolm Reynolds of the Freighter Serenity and I'm look'n to find some work in and around Skyhold. You need somth'n found, somth'n lifted, somth'n delivered? I'm your man. Wanna wander around outside all casual-like for any reason and want a guard? I can do that too. Most any job that needs do'n I can see to long as I get paid.

...And I'm also look'n for a dog.

So here's the thing- I mighta misplaced somth'n that's liable to wander a li'l bit. Big, brown, kinda fat for a Mabari- answers to Jayne or Salaud depend'n on what he's after. If you got valuables that smell like food or herbs or whatnot I'd double check 'em as he's got a habit of digg'n around, gettin in what ain't his, and eat'n it. Don't be fooled. He ain't a starv'n waif, he gets fed plenty. You see him and he's in somth'n he shouldn't be? Whap him and he'll wander off. You see him and aren't all that inclined to give him a smack? Come find me. I'm the mighty tall fellow wander'n around with a long brown coat and a staff that ain't a mage. Point me in his direction and I'll get it all sorted.

I'm in the tavern, big fella with a long brown coat and a staff but ain't a mage.

Excellent. I'll be there momentarily.

Order yourself a drink. My treat. I'll see you there.

[ Well he ain't gonna turn down a free drink- so he orders a pint of watery Ferelan ale (kinda makes him homesick) kicks up in the far corner with the staff for his pike propped against his shoulder, and waits.

Sometime during the waiting Jayne wanders back to settle under his chair. Good boy. ]

[At a leisurely pace, Twisted Fate steps into the tavern. Mage or not, he's left his own staff behind, having no need for it now.

He approaches Malcolm, pulling out a chair for himself.]

Twisted Fate. It's a pleasure, Malcolm. [Fate sits, and glances down.] I see you found your mabari.

More like he found me. Odds are he'll wander off before we're through.

[ Mal sits up enough to show he's being civil- offers Fate (The shit kinda name is that, really, then again he's worked with a Badger, so) his arm for a manly clasping of the wrists. ]

Same to you. Always good to get work.

[The arm is taken, and he gives it a firm shake. Business-like, and he can get to the point, then.]

Happy to offer it. Usually I'm looking for jobs myself, but in this case, I think it's better laid in your hands.

[He orders himself some ale. Something lighter after what Bull had ordered for him that one time.]

Tell me what your general fair usually is for a delivery of this nature, and how you prefer payment. Up front, or half before and half after the job is done?

[ Good shake, firm grip, says good things about how he handles himself if he can give a shake better than a dead fish. Mal's glad ofi t. ]

Half before, half after, unless I'm liable to get shot then I'll have all up front. Here to Kirkwall in this weather, somth'n about that size? Two sovereigns up front, two when I get back.

[Fate cracks a smile as he considers a moment, then proceeds to go into one of his many pockets in his coat.]

Since it is indeed Kirkwall, let's make this an even five up front. I think that's a fair assessment, all things considered.

[He places a piece of parchment paper down on the table. It has a symbol on it.]

The box you need to get has this on it. I left it in a house in the alienage. I'll give you specific instructions where to locate it, of course.

Sounds fair 'nuf.

[ He peers down at the paper, trying to sort out if any bit of the design's familiar. At the moment no bells are ring'n, though. ]

This is start'n to sound like more than a one man job. I ain't all that subtle-like if you put me in an alienage.

That's reasonable. [Fate chuckles.]

Then let's put it this way: choose a few companions. I'll ensure they get paid as well, that's not really your responsibility. But I trust you'll be able to locate reasonable company for this.

I'll see what I can do. Plenty'a helpful folk wander'n around Skyhold. Some might even work for free.

[ Not that he'd let 'em, but. It's possible. ]
