Once the needs are seen to, the comforts are addressed. Lucien disembarks, reports whatever it is he has to report, and when there is no more need for his assistance anywhere, he tends to himself. Namely, a bath. After that, he can be found meditating in the prayer garden.

ii. menial labor

[ Purely for MJ and Cait's thirsty benefits, Lucien will be doing a bunch of chores shirtless because the weather is hot and so is he.

He'll chop firewood, mend things, carry heaving things this way and that, he's at your bidding you monsters. ]

I do truly appreciate this.

[ This is Lucien’s assistance in moving his printing press from one room where it is rarely used to another room, less in the way, where it will also be rarely used. He also appreciates the view, of course. And he is helping—doing less of the lifting, perhaps, and doing it with his shirt on despite the way sweat is starting to plaster it to his skin, but not just watching the poor man work.

At the moment, they’re resting between buildings. Bastien needed it, whether Lucien did or not. ]

[ Lucien does need the rest, thanks in no small part to the slow pace at which he's recovering from malnutrition and a year without training. He chuckles softly. ]

And if you insist, who am I to refuse a drink from such agreeable company?
