"Yeah. I mean, yeah."

Because the first yeah is too quick, with the energy of a golden retriever's attention being caught by a dangled leash. The second and more correct yeah is much more chill and cool, Valerius jolting his posture up a little and taking a step forwards.

He's certainly ready, hands gloved, wearing the kind of padded leather armor best suited for training, but looks to the rack of training swords waiting for selection. "Which weight are you using?" His brings his own two-handed weapon around, but held in such a manner that implies he'll change it out as needed.

His accent is a little different to that of Marchers and Fereldans, and definitely isn't Orlesian. It sounds more, for Erik's reference, American, but with some other unknown slant to it too.

"I dunno. I just got this sword..." Erik unsheathes it for the other man to see. "It's got a fire rune and all'dat, but I don't want to set shit on fire here, yanno? So I was thinkin' something similar, so I could get used to it without using it directly, but if you've got other ideas or suggestions I'm down for whatever. Didn't really learn swordfightin' back home, so there's a learning curve with all this."

He sheathes the sword again and holds out a hand for Valerius to shake, if he wants. "Erik Stevens. Where're you from?"
