He weighs his options, and ultimately decides the box is more important than his secrets.

"He knew I'd have come for the box, which is why I wanted someone else to get it instead. So there you have it; there were Tevinter men hired by a magister because he has a grudge. Though he doesn't express it, there is relief. The box is taken, and he feels desperate to hold it but is careful with his body language.

Instead, he offers a smile of his own in return.

"I'm glad we have an understanding. Thank you for your services, Malcolm. Job well done." Twisted Fate adjusts his grip on the box. "We'll talk again, no doubt."

When has something else he needs, but right now this was more urgent.
