(for joselyn)
Just how many errands did you say you must do, again?
[Emet-Selch only has the one, really, so the length of the trip will be entirely up to her. More time away won't be objectionable, either.]

( is one of those things that's sort of half a joke—ha, ha, the frivolous woman wants to do more frivolous tasks, what an endurance test—and half the kind of corkscrewed empathy of someone who spent a significant amount of her life unable to leave places very like the gallows under her own power or by her own choice. if he wants to dawdle outside of the gallows' long shadow, she can think of excuses. )
I need to go to the market, and I need to collect a package from a toy shop.

[depends in part on how this goes, how they find each others' company-- he will require it to remain here, after all.]
I've a commission from a smith here, myself... though I at least will not be keeping it.
[it is Gift Errands Time.]

trickier than it looks, in her experience. she considers kirkwall, beginning to walk; convenient enough that most of their errands sound like they're not going to be miles apart.
not that riftwatch doesn't necessitate one develop a certain stamina for walking, anyway. )
Have you made plans for the holiday?
no subject
[it isn't the sort of holiday he cares much for, personally. he keeps pace with her as she walks, restraining the length of his steps.]
Nor did I have it in mind when I originally made the request, but... the timing has worked out conveniently enough.

( she had not been particularly enthusiastic about having to haul ass across thedas to join riftwatch when an anchor-shard had happened to her — it isn't quite the same upheaval as losing an entire world, but it does leave her not without empathy for rifters and the peculiarities of their situation. )
We didn't do all that much for it in the Circle. Nice to mark a day that was different than another, though.
