WHO: Warden!Felix and OPEN. (Starters for Kaiden, Bruce, Dorian, Ellana, and Adele. If you want your own starter just ask!)
WHAT: Felix returns after his Joining and looks much better. Also he's hungry. (The Kaidan thread is during training, set before they return to Skyhold.)
WHEN: About a week or two after Felix's Joining.
WHERE: His training took place at the remains of Haven, the rest is at Skyhold.
NOTES: None yet!

Less than a month ago, Felix had been a dead man. Now, he's at least upright. Things aren't prefect. He still has the taint and he has the ever present fact of the False Calling to contend with, but he's not wasting away anymore.

People who had seen him before will know that he's doing better. His cheeks are fuller and he isn't stumbling. He's able to move without aid. Despite the less than perfect circumstances, he thinks it's wonderful. If it weren't for the fact that he was trying to put on a good face as the newest Warden, he might have tried to dance around like an idiot.

He's still acting a bit like an idiot, but rather than dancing he's trying to get food from the kitchens. The servants might be a little annoyed that he keeps pestering them, but at least he knows how to apologize and thank them. He pesters politely which is likely a nice change.

He's not alone in the kitchen raid. Sabriel's been here for a while - likely since getting back to Skyhold from the training, bar a few minutes, perhaps - knowing from experience that if she doesn't have some quality kitchen time, she's going to regret it.

She's here for the long haul, book laid open next to a stack of freshly picked apples. Where did she get them and why don't the servants mind that she's hoarding them? Good question. Still, as Felix pesters, she whistles to catch his attention, and then picks one from the pile and tosses it in his direction. Sharing is caring, and all that.

"I think you've earned at least one of these."

Felix looks more than a little relieved as he catches it. Not only because it's food, but because he was able to catch it at all. Then he grins at her. "Cheers," he says, before taking a bite.

As he chews he comes over to her. He's careful to politely swallow what is in his mouth before speaking. "Do you mind if I ask what you're reading?"

"It is likely not that interesting," Sabriel says with a little shrug, but she doesn't hide it from him, turning the book for him to see. Most of it is written in trade tongue, but some passages are in Orlesian. From this page, in particular, it seems to be a discussion of social hierarchy and noble families in Nevarra. "I saw it in the latest shipment of books to the library, and was... intrigued."

"What intrigued you about it?" he asks, sincerely curious. If she didn't think it was interesting he was curious what had drawn her to it. History was interesting enough, and he was from a culture that cared very dearly about proper hierarchy and bloodlines. He was curious why someone would want to read about it who didn't have to know all the little connections those families had to one another.

Sabriel flexes her fingers against the open page. "I wondered if my family was in here. There is usually a common description of my line in books such as these," she admits. It's not that she's uninterested, just simply that she knows what she is likely to find; the same scattered few lines as always, nothing new. She knew about Nevarran bloodlines. She knew because she would be head of her house and it was proper for her to know these things. But, being things she already knew, it might seem redudent to be reading similar pages with similar passages all over again. "But I had wondered if it had more about us as whatever else we did other than become Wardens." She half smiles. Relationship charts? Sure. What those people actually did? Nah.

She might find something about why they always become Wardens, but she doubts it. That's a secret that seems to be locked up pretyt tight, and only open to idle gossip.

"Has all of your family become Wardens?" he asks. That seems unusual to him, but he wonders if that's because he's from Tevinter. Wardens and Tevinter have a very interesting relationship, to say the least. It seemed like Tevinter was dead set on pretending the Blight was anything other than what it actually was. Recent events would prove that to be a folly.

"Not all of them," she says, slowly. "But numerous. I don't know everything about it, but my family has been conscripted for a long time. Once every generation or so. And I am the fifty-third." The fifty-third Abhorsen. That's a weight, a name and burden to carry, because so many have heard of them. There is trust in that name, an exemplory Warden that will be made. It is her title now, but she can't help but feel as if she lets those that came before her down by bearing it. She is proud, absolutely, but their legacy... she is a traitor, as much as it is for the right reasons.

She frowns, then adds, "and whomever is the Warden is the head of the house. That's mine as well, for what it's worth."

Felix looks a little curious about that. "I thought when you began a Warden it meant leaving behind your old life?" A lot of his views about Wardens are colored by his homeland, which has a very odd relationship with the organization, as much as it does with everything else in Thedas.

"And that means you're the head of our house? So a Warden, head of your house, and Council member? Responsibility must really love you." He seems impressed more than anything.
