Grey Wardens. People used to comment that they walked in the shadows, but most didn't understand just how much they did.

"No, unfortunately there isn't. It's why we are so universally disliked. We save their live with the Blight, but every time they look at it they see what we have to do, and the debt that they owe us." He shook his head slightly. "It's just one of those things. Luckily for most of the time, all we have to do is kill Darkspawn. There are a few others things we have to do, but not often."

He nodded. "He's got a lot to learn, and it's going to be hard for him to find his place. He's not a fighter, he's not much of a mage, he's going to have to learn that sometimes we need people like him. Weisshaupt would be all over him as a researcher, but we don't have time for that. He's strong though. That's something that's definitely in his favour."

Strength, Sabriel wondered. Felix wasn't the only one to have it. Though they all had different skills, different resolves and a universal goal, it was a strength of will, of character, that tied them together. Not all those that were strong made it through a Joining, but perhaps that wasn't the strength it needed. It was the strength to deal with the burdens this sort of life would give them, burdens that those on the outside never saw. Or, in the case of darkspawn, not wanting to remember, even if the Wardens didn't have the luxury to forget.

She sighs. "Other things such as the Joining, and Corypheus." she lowers her voice, not wanting to attract the attention of anyone nearby, or cause panic. "Are there many prisons like his in Thedas?"

She was right. It was what brought all of them together. It was a hard life, far harder than it would have been if Kaidan had stayed in the Circle, but with the way things panned out, he likely would have ended up being made Tranquil. This wasn't a bad life, and he was doing good. That was all that mattered.

"There are a few, yes," he admitted. "I don't know where they all are, or who is in them - only those who need to know do so, but we have a few other... creatures locked up safely." Creatures. Demons. Magister Darkspawn. Take your pick.
