"Captain Malcolm Reynolds." A mite more and a mite less than 'Sarge' but- it is what it is. He likes his new skin, keep'n work on the line and food on his table. Course this is when Jayne wanders up and, well, like the anchor, he's new.

Same as Mel's hand that ain't quite right either. He blinks down at the metal, mind refus'n to parse what it's see'n for a moment.

Mal sets his glow'n green hand in her metal one, squeez'n. Not like she can feel it but- sentiment's the same. "Should start up a club. Our own fancy pants sav'n the world with magical hands club."

She claps his wrist, gently, before leaning down to Jayne. He's a real good excuse, as dogs go, to not go staring at someone with tears on your cheeks. Words don't sting like that, not never that you let folks see. Not unless they count.

"How 'bout 'Fade & Steel are better than your Red Right Hand?' Kinda catchy." Needs a little work. Bout as much as the rest of them.

"Marcher bounty hunter had him, got him off an Orlesian noble. Didn't train him all that right. He's good in a fight, though. Want him? He'll follow anyone what feeds him. Kinda reminds me 'a Tracy that way." Or of his own self when he was younger.

She snorts. Well, ain't neither of them poets.

"Do you want me guessing how you met the bounty hunter?" She scratches his ears, smiling all through it. "Because I'm figuring we got about ten years of stories to catch up on, an' I reckon the blank parts are the most entertaining."
