Someone had been a sneaky little shit, preying on Zevran's lack of familiarity with traditions and dates and the weight people tend to put on something so mundane as a 'birthday'. Someone (Alistair) had spread word and made a thing of it, despite Zevran not seeing the point nor truly wishing to cause a fuss. He had, however, decided to take a day for himself to do nothing. No fuss, no stress, no real work. A day to indulge in a few of his many hobbies. He did not know what one did on their birthday normally but here he was, sitting in the Courtyard with one of his found spoils on his head, awaiting those that paid mind to his earlier announcement. When he wasn't idly sketching whoever he saw in the courtyard he was in the Herald's rest, enjoying a quiet drink and making notes on the better stories or songs he has heard throughout the day.

Very spiky by the sounds of it. Something Fenris most definitely... oh, who was he kidding?

Ah, that first taste of hope after so long in the darkness. If anyone understood that, Fenris did. "Hmmmm. A good choice then for a birthday, and easy to remember at least." Maybe he should consider his on the anniversary of when he killed Danarius. Freedom after so long... well, he understood how Zevran felt very well.

"I was tempted, for a moment, to choose a day when it would be warm. All the better for lounging and admiring scantily clad women and men but...I feel this fits." And that he could have an opinion on something fitting- that's something of a marvel. "I shall be satisfied with the sentiment and lounging about, admiring well dressed women and men."

"I'm not sure just how many scantily clad men and woman you will find at Skyhold," he pointed out. "There's a lot of armor wearing people around, and that means they wear it no matter what the weather."

It did fit, and it actually did suit Zevran.

"Mmm, true. One day I ought to take you to Antiva in the Summer; I think you might enjoy the scenery and the people." His eyes slid over to Fenris, lips quirking in a grin. "And the wine."

"I'm likely to always enjoy the wine," he pointed out with a grin in return. "At least Antiva would be warmer than here as well." He'd been forced to wear boots.

"Wriggle your toes about in the sand, lounge about in the sun. Perhaps even glisten after a good oiling." Mmm. A well Oiled Fenris would be a sight to behold indeed.

He glanced at Zevran, and laughed. "I don't think I have ever just sat on a beach," he pondered. "It never struck me as a good use of my time." But the oiling? Well, there were worse ideas.

"Lounging- not sitting. It is very different, my friend. Lounging is far more sensual." Which suited Fenris in it's own way. "That is the point- it is for indolent relaxation. Being idle when you know you are safe."

"Ah. I didn't realise there was a difference." But now that Zevran had explained it, it made a good deal of sense. "And do you do this often, this... lounging?"
