The Herald's Rest

As she orients herself to Skyhold, Teren spends a lot of her downtime in the Herald's Rest, having a drink and a meal or just sitting quietly and listening to the music and talk of the keep. She's a dour creature, but wears her warden blues to indicate her position and is open enough to friendly (or unfriendly) conversation.

Wherever

She can be anywhere you need her. Bonus if your character is doing something stupid that she can grump at them about.

At an hour many would consider indecent, Teren knocks against the door she knows to belong to the resident Thevenet. In one spindly hand is concealed a tiny missive, dictating her purpose for being here.

Despite Benny's avoidance, Teren is watching her expectantly when she turns back around. "Indeed," she replies, mentally shelving the topic as she returns to her chair to sit down. "Why was Warden Hansen calling on you?" Her tone is innocuous, but clearly intrigued. If the junior Thevenet is getting involved with Warden affairs, she will need to be aware of them.

Should have guessed it wouldn't be that easy. And yet.

"We became acquainted on the road to Skyhold," she says, neutrally, "and I find it useful to know what he is about."

None of that is untrue.

"How kind of him to come look in on you at this hour."
Teren, of course, isn't fooled for a second, but for the meantime she lets it drop. She'll ferret out details later, and see what Hansen is on about. "So, to return to the matter at hand. Is there a specific design you're looking for, or shall I pull from various sources?" No one who calls herself a spy would be stupid enough to outright say what she's doing, no matter how private the room appears.
"I am eager to learn the fashions of Skyhold-- it seems there are many influences here."

Benevenuta would like to believe the matter is so easily set aside as that, but she's no fool; resigned, for the time being, to dealing with it later. Needs must he be a little less free with her company, perhaps. A bit more organised.

"All of them with their unique qualities," she agrees, a small hint of a smile settling back in her expression as she eases a little all the same; she'll never be as intimidating as her mother in manner or bearing, but she doesn't have to be, prefers the way people tend to underestimate her from the tells of her character, and doesn't try. "It is worth, I think, taking time to study them."

The purpose of Benevenuta's work here is - the purpose of the Inquisition's work, too. That simplifies things.

"In that case, I shall make it my business to do so," Teren replies, glancing at the door again as she hears footsteps in the hallway, but nobody stops in this time. "Any motifs I should look out for?"

"I was hoping, in fact, to call on your better existing knowledge of them," Benevenuta says, smiling, and they're talking about something different, now.

(Dorian's gifts had been - meaningful. And appreciated, but also appreciated for the reminder...she is a soft mortal thing and she is further from safety than she's ever been. She is going to live through this. She needs to make sure.)

"Indeed," is all Teren says, understanding perfectly. "I shall begin at once." Though she just arrived, she rises from the chair and begins to make her way toward the door, offering a cursory glance back to the younger Thevenet in case she wants to add anything.
