Skyhold is a remarkable place. People from all over Thedas call it home, an army calls it base of operations, and now for one young rifter now bereft of his classes, and indeed any way to get the information he needs from those classes, a place to waste time until he's needed elsewhere.
He's found the training ring. He's also found the weapons. He's not swinging them or sparring with anyone, shadows or otherwise. Instead, what he's doing with his commandeered pair of hand hammers is...juggling.
Guy is, undoubtedly, a born performer. He's got stage presence without needing a stage, and a little flair in every move that builds as he walks around the ring. Occasionally he turns in place, sometimes he stops and walks backward, but no matter what he does, his hands never stop moving, the hammers flipping end over end and occasionally dropping back over his shoulder.
He adds another blunt weapon as soon as he can find it, a blunted handaxe, and soon it joins the rest.
Someone can watch, or someone can interrupt him, and all they'll see is the most welcoming expression on someone wearing peasant clothes, like he's delighted to see them, and more likely than not, he really is.

The teen freezes a bit in place when he's got arms around his shoulders, but it seemed friendly, if anything. The fact that the guy was saying that he wouldn't judge him for it helped, too... even if he's not sure what the heck rogues had to do with playing games. Or picking them. Maybe he played heroes as a kid?
"That's... good. Last time I talked to a rifter he said I was a bad person for being a rogue, stealing food when I was on the streets, and that starving didn't exist." He's still really hurt by it, even if Sam hadn't known better.
He takes a breath and smiles again. Nope, not thinking about that. Making new friends and not fucking it up this time, please. "I could show you how to pick locks? But then you got to show me how to juggle in return."

"Might just be conflictin' definitions'a the term. Maybe where he's from, Rogue's a word that means somethin' terrible. Where I'm from, Rogues usually be somethin' dashing, a scoundrel but an honorable one, someone what knows how to use they hands for stealin' or duelin', dependin' on they principles. When I'd be playin', I'd be usin' two weapons, sneaky tactics, shit like that what fits into our definition'a the word. Just gotta be accountin' for the idea that ain't everyone gonna think about that though. As for the starvin' thing...I'unno lil' brother, might just be somethin' specific t' him n' his culture. Plenty'a food around. Never had to steal nothin'. Shit like that." He'd started out life in a slum, poor as dirt, himself. He knew what it was like. Hopefully Kas would understand where the perspective was coming from.
At the offer of exchange of skills, he chuckles. "Actually, already know how to be pickin' locks. 's how I get in places what needs wards to protect 'em sometimes. But I'd be about teachin' you how to juggle anyhow, you want."

The mention that he already knows how to pick locks makes him flush slightly, and he straightens his gloves. Kas isn't sure what else to offer, seeing his archery and daggerwork was harder to teach. "Nah, fair is fair. I'll find something to teach you."

Guy shrugs, then smiles faintly. "Back home, there wasn't much need for things like warriors, n' spies did they shit a whole lot less interactive. N' mages is rare. Respected, integrated real well into livin' with' everyone, but rare. N' people thought all this shit what's like what you all got goin' normal here was real interestin', so we made up these games, where you can take control of this lil' fake fuckin' avatar, play out a story through him, give him the attributes y' like. I always made mine roguelike. Always thought it might be neat learnin' the kinda shit you could make ya character do, but forreal. There was one game like this I played, where motherfucker runs all up n' down buildin's, climbin' to the tops'a towers where y' can see for miles n' miles. Learnt how t' be doin' that, after a while. Don't seem to be much by way'a places to be doin' all that here though."

"I climbed almost all the way up on the keep once, but didn't find anything to step on for the roof. Does that count? I could see the entire fortress and the mountains." The boy grins, looking quite proud.
