The Orlesian tailors arrived in great state, bringing with them a cadre of servants, workers, and snotty attitudes. They hate everything. It is cold in Skyhold. It is damp. Everything smells of wet dog. The working conditions are abysmal. The food is criminal. There's not a damned thing they don't complain about, except for the piles of coin they stand to make from this soiree. Yes, they are more than content to build a fortune with exclusive work that will be seen by some of the aristocracy's finest.

Harritt apparently doesn't much like them either. They've taken over his Undercroft with their fabrics and threads, designs and opinions. Oh they have opinions. He stays to one corner, attending his work, and grumbling under his breath about the poncy cheesesniffers.

Nahariel's amusement provokes a small grin from Korrin, who will let her get away with far more than said tailors. "Well, the council is required to attend but anyone can go if they'd like. If you and Sina decide it's worth all this nonsense, let me know. I'd rather hang out with the people not interested in the Game."

"If what's worth all this nonsense, getting the opportunity to be stared at, loudly remarked upon, and deliberately confused for serving staff?" Nahariel raised an eyebrow, but her tone wasn't as quite as wry as it had been. Her eyes wandered across the room. As much as she had no patience for the antics of the tailors, the work itself was deft and impressive... and the quality of their materials was unmistakable.

And if her clansister wanted to go...

"I'd... better find out what Sina thinks," she said grudgingly, then looked up at Korrin with a grin. "At the very least, I'll know there's at least one sane person around to talk to."

"There's a small number of us. We could always be that group that sips wine and heckles all the snooty people from the back. At least I'll join in after a few dances." The idea of dancing with a certain rifter lady is the main draw for her, after all, and she's always willing to join friends as well. It's a far better use of her time than being within earshot of the nobles and their inane or condescending comments, anyway. Not that these tailors are much better, in her eyes. "And if this bunch thinks they can walk all over you, I'll be happy to remind them that Madame de Fer hired them...and she's not a woman who tolerates rudeness."

Korrin would just glare or loom or punch, but Vivienne would be so much worse.

Hearing Vivienne's title actually causes the elf to look awkwardly away to examine... something else.

"I'm not sure she'd defend me. When she came to visit Sina, I wasn't exactly...welcoming."

An understatement. She'd actually accused the woman of being party to the subjugation of the elves.

Korrin frowns in concern at that, her thoughts abruptly turning from the future soiree. "You were under a lot of strain, Nahariel. Whatever you said, Vivienne is well aware of that. Besides, she's not called the Iron Lady for nothing. I'm sure she's heard a lot worse in her time and from people with far less in the way of excuses."

The hunter grunted and shrugged.

"You're... probably right." After all, what was one more angry elf?

She looked stormier for a moment, and then tried to distract herself with lighter things. "Tell me about Araceli--is she as cross as we are, or is she pleased with the chance to show off?"

"Oh, she's looking forward to it. Leliana's been training her as a bard and this will be a chance for her to put that training to use." Not to mention step back into her previous role before arriving in Thedas, but Korrin won't pass on that aspect of her lady love unless given direct permission. "She may have a shard, but that can be turned into a talking point, and if she doesn't want to be seen as a rifter there's always pretending to be Antivan. She'll be fine."

The elf perked up when Korrin mentioned the possibility of Araceli pretending to be Antivan. "Does she know some way to disguise the shard's light? I think it bothers Sina sometimes, that the glow is always there."

Korrin's expression softens at mention of Sina and she knows that hiding a palm shard is one thing, but a chest shard will be that much more difficult. "I'll ask her, but these tailors might have some suggestions. Maybe there's a specific fabric that will do the trick. It won't be as easy with her, but if these tailors are nearly as worthy as Vivienne describes, they'll come up with something."
