Open: Party Preparations

WHAT: Preparing the Inquisition for the Soiree

NOTES: * Josephine is the hostess of the shindig. Matters regarding invitations, guest lists, admittance, entertainment, food, or general complaints/suggestions should be directed to her.
* Vivienne has personally invited three tailors from Val Royeaux to assist with clothes making for the attendees. She is available to assist with design selections and/or advice on how to behave.
* YOU are open and invited to grab your nearest and dearest CR to complain about the party, ask for a date to he event, complain you have nothing to wear.
* Belinda Darrow has donated from her own private purse to the cost of clothing which people could otherwise not afford.

The Orlesian tailors arrived in great state, bringing with them a cadre of servants, workers, and snotty attitudes. They hate everything. It is cold in Skyhold. It is damp. Everything smells of wet dog. The working conditions are abysmal. The food is criminal. There's not a damned thing they don't complain about, except for the piles of coin they stand to make from this soiree. Yes, they are more than content to build a fortune with exclusive work that will be seen by some of the aristocracy's finest.

Harritt apparently doesn't much like them either. They've taken over his Undercroft with their fabrics and threads, designs and opinions. Oh they have opinions. He stays to one corner, attending his work, and grumbling under his breath about the poncy cheesesniffers.

Josphine's arrival is a welcomed one. It makes for a very pleasant distraction from having to frown at people when they step out of line. "Very well. The tailors complain about everything but their work has been exceptional. I believe we will have a most impressive showing for the evening. They truly have outdone themselves."

Honestly though, she does wonder how they manage to get anything done at all with as much time as they squander complaining.

"If there have been any troubles, it is finding out what Cassandra has selected to wear. They tell me she has not been here yet." And let's face it, the chances of the Seeker having anything appropriate for the evening in her closet are like trying to catch a moonbeam in a jar. She shrugs lightly. It's a problem she'll address soon.

Josephine is of course completely unsurprised to hear of Cassandra's reluctance to prepare a suitable outfit. The Seeker's reputation precedes her, and her reputation is not one that predisposes itself to parties. That is going to change, out of necessity, but Josephine is fairly confident that Vivienne already has her own machinations in place. Nonetheless, it does not stop her from remarking, "Truly?" Her eyebrows slant in false surprise.

"Well, I do hope you excuse my frankness, but I do believe Cassandra could use all the help available to her. I know she has no love for these events, but as a fundamental leader of the Inquisition her attendance is certainly vital."

"I couldn't agree more, my dear." No honestly, Vivienne's almost annoyed with Cassandra's attempts to weasel out of attendance. Especially since her name is one of the two that's been smeared in the first place. Elodie can be a dear, but is painfully simple sometimes.

There's a sympathetic smile from Vivienne. "I'll see what I can do to remind her of how vital she is to the evening's success." Even if it means holding her in a block of ice while expounding on it point by point for a few hours.

"Your assistance is truly appreciated." While Josephine knows that the majority of Cassandra's ire is not directed at herself, the fact that she had sided with Leliana during their arguments has done little for their working relationship. Yet, still... she cannot avoid the matter entirely. She lowers her head slightly and after a deep breath, she says, "If there is anything I can help with, please do let me know."
