Teren can be found at a large corner table in the Herald's Rest, where she has set up an impromptu workshop for those who can't afford or would prefer not to use the Orlesian tailors.

She is also making house calls for those who request them. (Just put it in your starter!)

"The general silhouette is fine. But the neckline is a little low...and if it were possible to have longer sleeves?"

She mimes the drape of the fabric for a moment on her own arm, before letting it lower. "And I did have some fabric swatches, for a start."

"No trouble at all," Teren assures her, "do you have them here?" Finally, someone who wants to wear something reasonable. And with Thedosian fabrics, no less.

"Ah, one moment."

From a small, discreet pocket at the edge of her skirt, she carefully withdraws some folded lengths of fabric, from deep red to burgundy, and offers them up across the table. "I'm afraid I don't have trim handy, but I'm certain some could be purchased, depending on what you thought you might advise," she adds, eyebrows lifting.

"Right, certainly," Teren agrees, looking over the swatches, "or if you like, I can improvise, and if you like the result you can pay me for the material after the fact. Something tasteful, I assume?"

"Please."

A short sigh escapes her. "I can appreciate the need for some to make this a very extravagant affair, but honestly I'd settle for 'warm' and 'comfortable'. Apparently that makes me a backwater heathen."

No one's said so to her face, of course. But she suspects that may have something to do with her relation to the commander, in some instances.

This elicits a smirk from Teren, who meets her eyes for a moment that may even be sympathetic. "Well, as someone from an actual backwater, I assure you it's no trouble at all." Her gaze flits to her worktable, where she begins to sketch dress silhouettes on the same parchment that holds Mia's requests. "Didn't catch your name, actually."

"Mia Rutherford. A pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Her gaze falls with interest to the sketches at work, though she refrains from leaning closer. Let the woman carry on with her job, she's happy to provide what information she might need as is necessary.

"Rutherford," Teren repeats, as she writes it down, "related to Commander Rutherford?" She doesn't look up, and her tone remains conversational-- it makes no difference to her whether or not they're related, she's just curious.

"His older sister."

Easy enough to say, particularly in the presence of a woman who doesn't seem too terribly interested in gossip. There's no emphasis on that fact. While Cullen may be a large part of the reason she is here, what she's done is of her own accord.

"Ah," Teren intones, "here to keep an eye on him?" This is asked a bit wryly, and she angles her head to peer up at Mia. Boys, right?
