Sixteen books on magic spells

WHO: Hermione Granger and rifters (or anyone who saw her note and wants to chat)
WHAT: Adelaide is having Hermione find out about magic in other worlds by interviewing rifters for SCIENCE.
WHEN: Mid-Drakonis and onwards. There's no deadline on acquiring knowledge!
WHERE: The default is Skyhold's library, otherwise note in the subject line if your character would have arranged to meet her somewhere else.
NOTES: Nothing comes to mind; will change if necessary.

Anyone frequenting the library has probably become used to the curly-haired young girl who's claimed a small alcove as her own. She can usually be found sitting in the corner, nose buried in a book as her brow furrows, attempting to bridge the gap between her worldview and that of Thedas'. It's not always an easy task, and sometimes names and dates get jumbled, which is why she can sometimes be found just a few steps away at the nearest table, books and journals and bits of parchment scattered about as she tries to make sense out of all the reading she's done.

Still, what at first glance appears to be a mess is actually rather organized, and for however engrossed she seems to be in her work, she's always been happy to talk to new people. After all, each conversation counts towards research, even if it isn't in the particular field she's been asked to study. Go ahead and ask around for her if you don't know where to find her; chances are she's hard to miss, and many will be able to point out the inquisitive rifter if she happens to be around.

"If it doesn't help us to get along, at least it might help some Thedosian scholars figure out some commonality between us that will help us get back to where we ought to be." After all, Hermione's yet to come across anything that can be done - with magic or otherwise - that can't be undone, even if undoing it sometimes takes longer than it should.

"And that will be worth it. If it can give them any information they need..." He's all for it. It's not the first time he's traveled to some other world, so he wouldn't be surprised if it were possible to leave this one eventually too.

"It's why it's worth looking into," Hermione mentions with a small sigh, looking down at her notes. "So please, if there's anything else about your world that you'd like to elaborate on, don't hesitate to bring it up. Even if it doesn't come to you today. I have the impression I won't be moving much from here."

"Thank you, Hermione. I appreciate the offer, and your willingness to discuss all of this." It's been worth it, more than he might have thought, getting all of his thoughts out about the past and so on. He even feels a little better doing so. "Good luck." He gives a light semi-smile. "I guess I'll know exactly where to find you from now on."

She manages another smile as she looks up from her notes and meets his gaze. "Thank you for being willing to talk. And if you happen to find me somewhere else - on the off-chance that I decide to attempt to go for a walk or some such thing - by all means, feel free to approach me."

"You're welcome," Kain says as he gets up. "And I'll be sure to do that... and likewise, anytime." He knows he can seem unapproachable sometimes, so it's worth making a point to say something. "For now... take care. And good luck with all of this."

"Thank you," she replies, both for his offer to talk and for wishing her luck. Smiling up at him as he gets up to leave, Hermione tells him, "Take care of yourself, Kain," before returning to her notes.
