Try something new, they said...
WHO: Fenris and you
WHAT: Someone wants to better himself. Or something.
WHEN: Early Cloudreach
WHERE: Around Skyhold. Isolated corners. The tavern (there's a surprise)
NOTES: Probably a warning from swearing in Tevene. It's Fenris.

He tried looking at it every which way he could, but it made no sense. Well. It made sense to someone, he was sure, but not him. The book that was in front of him was being studiously ignored to make way for something more useful - alcohol.
He was feeling the lack of being able to read. He knew that as many could read as couldn't, but all of his friends round about could - and when he was out in the field, it would be useful to be able to read slaver's ledgers to be able to find out just where they had been - and where they were going next. But how did you even go about that.
Preposterous. He shouldn't even have thought of it. With a sigh he finished his drink and stood up, looking around, and thought about leaving the book behind, but tucking it under his arm. Maybe he would ask Zevran to help him.
Still. He was mellow as he walked through Skyhold at least. Alcohol had a tendency to do that to you.

"Just need a few more hands- ha!"
He was an elf. Shoeless, at that. Not promising. But looked muscley in a way she just wasn't. So she'd make due with what she had.
"Hey, shiney. Got a few for a girl in need?"
no subject
"What are you doing?" he blurted out. He couldn't not ask the question, after all. It wasn't a no, though.

"No spoiling it. You've got to be in first. S'how it works. But you'll get a prize at the end."
no subject
"Very well. Where to?"
no subject
"Follow and see."
To the fancy wine stashes in the kitchens, of course. Just come along after the more or less skipping Sera.

She opens the door (lock previously picked) and presents it with a flair.
"Hope you're thirsty, shiny. We've got bottles to empty. And refill."
no subject
He looked at Sera and gave her a wolfish grin. "I can drink a lot, but how much are you expecting me to drink?" And be able to walk out again, though that was less optional. "You know what you have here?" Because if they could find something else to decant this wine into...

She's already getting a bottle open, sitting on the floor cross-legged and picking at the cork with a dagger in hand.
"Just get the bottles empty, yeah? Pour it for the rats. They'd like some- or we can go to the kitchens. Get some skins for passing out."

There is a cackling glee in her voice- one maybe added to by the fact she's been drinking from her opened bottle while he's gone.
"Think these noble tits know half what they say? Or just go 'oooh, pretty bottle, oooh so much gold. Gotta be good'? Stupid. Put the cheap stuff in the fancy bottle, they'll never know."
no subject
"There are a few that know their wine," he pointed out, but did nod his head in agreement. "You can always claim a bottle has gone bad, after all. Just what are you going to do with the decent wine?"
no subject
Oh no. The bottle was already gone. This will probably not end well, if she keeps up at this pace.

She sounds almost affronted. Sullying a prank's good name with gold.
"Take it if you like, but I'm not getting messed up in it."

Maker, shiny. Like it's hard.
"Tell stories if we want. Play cards. Make weird faces. Fun things, yeah?"
no subject
"Hilarious."
no subject
"I know it."
