Cyril OTA
When he loops back around to the group, though, he's always friendly and open. He knows a lot of the people who came with Fate, but not all. It's a good chance to try to make some new friends, or at least learn a bit about people he doesn't know.
He knows things are likely to get very serious very quickly, so for the trip up there he mostly tries to keep things light.]
So, anyone got any interesting stories?

[Maybe telling a story would be a fine distraction.]
There was a time that my partner and I needed to escape from a village -- back when Lothering still stood, before the Blight. My partner was a Vashoth, so between him and myself, we stood out immensely.
So, in the dead of night, we took a farmer's ram and shaved it all of its wool and wrapped my partner in it before we agreed to cram him the back of the wagon. I used some of the leftover wool to cover my face so I could pretend to be an old man taking his goat away for trade.
Unfortunately, we both underestimated how itchy the whole thing would be. Never mind the smell.

An elf with a beard. That must have been a sight.

Aw well.

Suppose I've not really mentioned him much before.

About ... hm, five years after my clan and I parted ways? That was about the time I met him. Malsaam. Terrific at Wicked Grace, actually. Most of the people he played with didn't think much of a large Vashoth who pretended to not know how to hold the cards in his hands.
Hell of a temper, though. Still, we had a good run, for a time.

Malsaam and I-- we traveled across Thedas. Stealing, conning, pirating; we were good at it, too. But he wanted to rob a Tevinter magister.
I was the one who would always plan a way to escape just in case the job would go badly. Malsaam didn't have the foresight, and I was never keen at the idea of being caught, being an elf and an apostate. This time, I didn't see a way out, and I told him.
Stubborn I said, right? Mal... he said as long as I watched his back, we'd be fine.
But it went badly. I told him we had to go. He didn't listen. So I ran away, and he was put into slavery.

[After a moment, Cyril gets closer and just wraps his arm around Fate's arm, holding onto him to offer comfort without overly soft words.]

[There is more. There is always more.
For now, he appreciates the physical comfort. Fate closes his eyes and places a hand to Cyril's arm.]

You know, there are a lot of good bearded men in the Inquisition. We should have a contest to see how can make out with more of them.

I do like a little competition.
Cyril, thank you.

But I appreciate you listening. I like to think I'm a good judge of character, and you--
Well. You're trustworthy, and sharing is not an easy thing for me.

I am here, though, if you ever need to tell more of it.

[Twisted Fate approves, and he smiles sharply before he leans in and presses a kiss to Cyril's temple.]
Another time, though. There'd be too much say, and I've said enough. Let's perhaps entertain ourselves?
