Not much to say. I was the clan's First for awhile. She was the Second at the time, and always had been trying to prove she was better than me. I ignored half my studies, she embraced them. A magnificent non-competition. I'm sure it was a blessing when I was exiled.

[ Oh look, ale. Her dear friend. Aley McAle Face. How could she live without you? ]
They're gonna get themselves killed, yeah? You know it.

[There's a frown on his face as he takes his brandy.]
I know it's highly likely. And as much as I'm angry with them, I don't want them to die. But wanting fixes nothing.

[ She'd been sulking, which meant she had to burn it away by chatting with the locals and hearing what has what. She'd been hoping for a noble to kill, but it was what it was.
AKA Stacey did her own NPCing pls don't be mad ]
They're hurting people. Got to fix that, before their kinda noble gets all the bities strung up.

[For a moment, he works on his brandy, then gives her a curious look. She did seem fond of the children, which he'd already approved of; kids don't know any better than to listen to those that brought them into the world, after all. They don't deserve any malice.
That is true.]
If worst comes to worst... well, we'll find a way to assist them.
Children didn't ask for this life. They deserve a chance to be better.

[She drums her fingers against the table- then lets out a low snarl.]
This is shit, yeah?! If you knew it was this bad, why'd you bring us? Just to watch while they stupid-ed their way into dead? We coulda just sent Josie to the humans, closed the rift, and fucked along. This is you. So.
Fix it.

I brought you so I could at least hear one sane opinion about the clan. And the arrows.
You're saying I should fix it?

[Part of him is a bit bothered, but generally impressed that Sera is telling him to not shove it off on other people. Which was exactly what he was planning on doing, because running from his problems and manipulating people to fix it for him seemed convenient and easy.
But it's not very... well. Friends can do better than that. And the Inquisition is less of the pawn he wanted it to be for him now since he'd acquired these friendships.
Alas.]
Think I could just throw some money at it? I only wish it were that easy.
no subject
[ It is Not a Compliment. Other people taking your pain? Throwing around coin?
She is very disappointed in you, Fate. ]

[He sighs and rubs the bridge of his nose.
Running away from problems isn't a first for him, but foisting off his problems on friends is not... friendly.]
Tell you what. I get drunk as shit, and then? Then I'll try to make some mad, brilliant plan that fixes this whole thing. I'm sure that won't possibly go awry.
no subject
It's- you can need friends, yeah? Friends are the best things that can be. But they're just that. The Friends. You're there to make it all work. That's the deal. Or you're just...some bitchy person that makes people feel like shit.
[ Being a Jenny clearly gave much wisdom. Drunk, angry wisdom. ]
no subject
[He finishes his current cup. Because, yes, he needs to get drunk to deal with this shit.]
You're not wrong, though. [And he can approve of her telling to get his crap together.] Suppose after I hear what everyone's got to say, I'll figure out where it has to go after that.
no subject
[ She is making less sense there, weaving her own work as a leader in the Red jenny's into this, but too gone to much care. ]
'Till then... tell me how that bitchy First set her underthings on fire once or something.
no subject
Oh, definitely. When we were children, I had a natural affinity to making fire spells. Janna? Janna wanted to catch up. So she did set her clothes on fire, matter of fact. Then complained to me and wanted me to share my cloak with her.
I told her good luck with that and ran off. She had to walk back to camp without a piece of clothing to her name.

[ She will just be giggling. About the naked fire princess sparkly-tits. ]

You can imagine the shrieking, I hope. It was good shrieking.

[ Show how shocking a flat-ear can be. ]

Suppose I'll just have to work extra hard to make sure we get the opportunity.
