Not much to say. I was the clan's First for awhile. She was the Second at the time, and always had been trying to prove she was better than me. I ignored half my studies, she embraced them. A magnificent non-competition. I'm sure it was a blessing when I was exiled.

Beleth is plenty elfy. [Once upon a time he had worse things to think and say, but... well, it's a bit hard to think of her badly now. Beleth is frustrating, but she's pretty and incredibly intelligent with a good wit. Hard to not respect that.] But true, she deserves better than them. Everyone does.

[Part of him is a bit bothered, but generally impressed that Sera is telling him to not shove it off on other people. Which was exactly what he was planning on doing, because running from his problems and manipulating people to fix it for him seemed convenient and easy.

But it's not very... well. Friends can do better than that. And the Inquisition is less of the pawn he wanted it to be for him now since he'd acquired these friendships.
