They've kept to the same clearing as the last, because the location's good. Far enough away that no one could stumble upon them by accident, near enough in case something went seriously wrong, it works.
He has scarcely more hope this time than he did the last, but at least there's no singing involved. This can't go as strangely. In theory.

... of course they would. And of course you would.
[She looked at him for a moment, her lips twisting.]
Varric, you're one of the smartest people I know, not to mention the kindest. Of course you'll find a way out of this -- except in the meantime you're going to be honest to every single person about every last aspect of your life ... even Bianca.
[She held up her hands.] Don't tell me about Bianca even if I am secretly dying to know!

[As touched as he was about Bethany's opinion of him, all the blood drained out of his face as she brought up Bianca. Varric looked very ready to faint, which, hilariously, would have been a pretty decent solution to this problem.]
I promised her I would never tell anyone. Shit, I'm telling you more now than I should be!
[For just a second, Varric looks honestly worried.]
Don't ask, please don't ask, I couldn't live with myself if I answered questions about Bianca. If you asked the wrong thing you might even be in danger and how would I explain that to your sister, or your brother?
[Hurriedly:]
Let's talk about something else, anything else, please help me pick another topic--any topic.

[Bethany rambled on, wondering if she should stop, but at least they were on another topic so she went with it.]
You know my sister isn't dead. I know I should doubt because everyone else does and they don't want to say anything - but I would know if Marian was dead. Just like I would know Carver was dead. Just like how I knew Mother was dead before they told me. I hated Marian and Carver then - but I hated myself more for not being there to protect her.
[... Well there we go. Something she had never told anyone and she is now going to put her hand over her mouth.]
