I. Healer Tents
Since the trip to the Fade, the strange headache had returned. Now it was always there, nagging him, but at times it grew to something less tolerable and more 'knife in his brain'. Kas tried to ignore it, but eventually he had to drag himself to a healer again to get a potion or something until it calmed down.
Opening the healing tent flap after a little knock to a pole, he makes a grumbling sound as a greeting, not sure if it was a healer or another patient in the room.
II. Archery Range
The archery training was going well for the teen, and he found himself always feeling better after he had gone through his training for the day. It cleared his head better than any other things he had attempted, and came with the added bonus of actually improving something. With the hip quiver making pulling out an arrow much easier and less entangled, he was also increasing his speed.
After nailing another shot at the dummy, Kas takes a quick break to grab his water skin and wipe some sweat from his forehead. Concentrating was heavy work.
III. Herald's Rest
Better days meant better ways to entertain himself, and Kas often found himself at the Tavern playing games with other patrons. Wicked Grace, Diamondback, Checkers. Other times, he just liked listening to people talk (and maybe shyly look at girls). He didn't drink, though, which annoyed the staff a bit.
(Good thing the cook thought he was cute.)
Writing letters to his old kith had been sparse lately, the more he realized how bad it had really been there compared to the families he heard about from people like Gorse and Korrin. Still, he felt obligated to let them know he was alive now and then, and could be found scribbling on paper in the tavern when not losing his money to cards.
...it usually ended with him doodling instead.

"Korrin?" He asks, stopping by the stable doors and peeking inside.

"Korrin, they're so little..." He's almost immediately attacked by kisses and nibbles from the little puppies, and he fails completely at staying composed and manly.
"Hi there..." He says softly, running a hand over the fluffy fur. "Is the mom okay with this?"

"Yes? May I help you?"
no subject
...but no, his head throbbed far too much for that.
"I need some elfroot or something for head pain," he says with a little frown.

It had been a shit week, but the relaxing and everything else Sam had suggested had helped. Now he just needed more of those potions to hold him over.
"I was in the Fade with everyone so I guess that triggered it again."

III. Herald's Rest
The games on the table draw his attention first, but seeing that Kas was writing - or doodling - something has the mage tilting his head. "How you doing, Kas?"
no subject
"Do you wanna play?"
no subject
"I know how to play checkers. Not much of a player of the other ones. Can't seem to find anyone that wants to sit down and teach me."
no subject
Instead he's taking out the Diamondback board. "I can teach you," he says with a little shrug. "It's not that hard, and it's a fun game."
Not as fun as Wicked Grace, but there was no encouraged cheating in Diamondback.

It was, therefore, a huge surprise then when she rounded a corner and bumped into one, albeit of a somewhat miniature stature. "Oh!" Her initial surprise trumped any fear, at least until she noticed his budding horns, "I'm sorry! I didn't see you."
no subject
(Hormones.)
"Are you lost or something? You don't look like a scout, and up there's the scout quarters."
no subject
She wanted to say more, and maybe to apologize again, but she was completely tongue tied. Worried she might need to make a hasty exit, she peeked up, trying to make sense of where she was. It didn't help that Skyhold and the camps surrounding it were a complete enigma to her still. "Scout's uhm, quarters did you say?"
no subject
"I'm guessing you're new here. It's... uh... tricky to find places sometimes." Especially if the corridors were blocked by debris or something. He had spent most of his time exploring Skyhold, so he knew it like the back of his hand.

iv; guess who went to antiva and restocked her spices
Lux scurries ahead of her, wagging his tail when he spots Kas as Araceli catches the fox up.
"Hola Kas," she calls. "Do you have time for me to steal you away? I have a surprise."
bless you ara
Leaning over to pet Lux, his blue eyes widen bit when she mentions a surprise. "Oh?" he asks, raising a brow in an expression somewhere between curiosity and suspiciousness.
"I have a little free time...?"
no subject
"Can you come to the kitchens with me then? I've got a surprise. And I got rid of the awful one there so don't worry about her. But I remember you mentioned something to me a long time ago, and well, things don't ever slip my mind."
Unfortunately bard studies tend to bury a girl then there were several unfortunate instances of life in Skyhold and elsewhere pretty much going to shit on a grand scale so cooking? It took something of a back seat but well she's probably kind of officially sort of family now.

For Zevran
Now it was time for a review, and with the elf having been absent a lot, Kas was pretty nervous. Was he going to be tested on this?
Probably.
"Master Arainai?"
For Zevran
An easy way of entertaining the child. "You have been practicing yes?"
no subject
...and then he stops, confused. That was a kid(?!) "Uh, hi?" He says, giving Lucci a little wave. Who was that? They kind of looked like Zevran, honestly. Was... was it Zevran's?
Well. Weird.
"Uh... yeah. Practicing. Lots." He rubs his face a bit and decides to focus. Be cool, Kas. "It takes me fifty seconds to break a medium-level lock, now." Just a little below a minute. He's proud, okay?

=D
"I need some potions for pain."
:D!
"Have you had the pain long?" There are a few easy, quick painkillers and Anders steps to the side to get a few of the smaller vials. "Has anyone taken a look to see what the cause is and if they can alleviate it with something a little less... temporary?" He won't hold out on the guy, but he'd prefer to see to things in a more lasting fashion.
