I. Healer Tents
Since the trip to the Fade, the strange headache had returned. Now it was always there, nagging him, but at times it grew to something less tolerable and more 'knife in his brain'. Kas tried to ignore it, but eventually he had to drag himself to a healer again to get a potion or something until it calmed down.
Opening the healing tent flap after a little knock to a pole, he makes a grumbling sound as a greeting, not sure if it was a healer or another patient in the room.
II. Archery Range
The archery training was going well for the teen, and he found himself always feeling better after he had gone through his training for the day. It cleared his head better than any other things he had attempted, and came with the added bonus of actually improving something. With the hip quiver making pulling out an arrow much easier and less entangled, he was also increasing his speed.
After nailing another shot at the dummy, Kas takes a quick break to grab his water skin and wipe some sweat from his forehead. Concentrating was heavy work.
III. Herald's Rest
Better days meant better ways to entertain himself, and Kas often found himself at the Tavern playing games with other patrons. Wicked Grace, Diamondback, Checkers. Other times, he just liked listening to people talk (and maybe shyly look at girls). He didn't drink, though, which annoyed the staff a bit.
(Good thing the cook thought he was cute.)
Writing letters to his old kith had been sparse lately, the more he realized how bad it had really been there compared to the families he heard about from people like Gorse and Korrin. Still, he felt obligated to let them know he was alive now and then, and could be found scribbling on paper in the tavern when not losing his money to cards.
...it usually ended with him doodling instead.
IV. Wildcard!

"I'm guessing you're new here. It's... uh... tricky to find places sometimes." Especially if the corridors were blocked by debris or something. He had spent most of his time exploring Skyhold, so he knew it like the back of his hand.

Then after a small pause, she decided to take a chance, "I'm Sadira by the way."
(ooc: Oops I used the wrong account before, Sorries!)

(Shush.)
"It takes a while to get used to but I can help... where did you want to go?"
(Sorry for the wait, I was on vacation!)
Her expression clear however at the continued offer to help. Unfortunately she had been wandering aimlessly trying to find somewhere to be of use or at the very least, not to be in the way. Saying that would just make everything else awkward, so she opted for the first thing that popped into her head, "The kitchens-- or at least somewhere I might get a meal?"
(Sorry right back, I don't even have an excuse!)
"Oh, that's easy! You just gotta follow your nose!" He's joking. Mostly. "This way!"
life is excuse enough so it's all nbd :)
"I'll try to keep that in mind next time. Perhaps I should get myself one of those Mabari to help me." So her nervousness was slowly leaving her as she talked with him more. "Just how familiar are you with Skyhold?"
no subject
"I know Skyhold like the back of my hand. When I first got here, I went absolutely everywhere to explore. Even climbed the roof of the fortress." Well, more like attempted to, as it was a little steep.
Opening the door to the courtyard, he crosses it to get to the kitchen door. "You should look into a mabari. They're pretty great and we have some deal going on with a breeder. It's just hard to make one bond with you."
no subject
"I thought you had to be Ferelden to get one of them." Which conveyed nearly everything she knew about Mabari and Ferelden in one sentence. "Do you have a Mabari?"
no subject
He nabs a huge amount of them every day, so he should know.
"...and no, I'm too busy with work to have a pet. Kinda want one, though." As if that wasn't obvious with all his gushing over them.

Suddenly finding herself in the kitchen was a surprise, simply for the woolgathering, she'd been doing moments before. Taking amoment to look around, she watched the kitchen staff preparing meals for the Inquisition and inhaled the smell of baking bread and stews being prepped. "Oh, I think a hearth cake might be good since you recommended it."
Then after a moment longer to enjoy the radiating heat of the room, she looked over at Kas once more. "I'm sure you could make time for a pet. I think you'd be good at it. You're already looking after strays." As she spoke, her hands twisted to pointing at herself with a warmer smile.

Kas moves to sweettalk one of the chefs into giving them some hearth cakes, but the woman is already holding a basket of them with a grin and a little wiggle of her brow. Blushing, the teen awkwardly takes them and hands Sadira a couple.
"Well, maybe you're right. You're kind of an easy stray to take care of, though." He laughs, shoving a piece of a hearth cake in his mouth. "...and you probably don't shed."

Any further contemplation ended swiftly as she took a hearth cake and began to eat one, happily surprised at the taste of them. She grinned swallowing her bite while arching an eyebrow up at him, "It seems you're a regular here." Her statement was accompanied by a soft chuckle as her grin grew for a moment into a slightly lopsided smile. For being an Ox-man he was rather endearing. "It helps I come house broken and can take myself for walks."

He seems happy to see that she's approving of the food, nodding a little. "I'm here all the time. The food is one of the bets things here!" In all honesty it was pretty average, but he had been a starving boy once.
"Sounds like a perfect pet," he says with a little amused snort.
